Being there was great. I think Eastern was quicker then Toledo, especially on defense, and to me, the only thing that kept Toledo close through most of the second half was their ability to make some three pointers. Eastern really kept Toledo at bay with their ability to make the free throws down the stretch sealed the deal. I would agree with others here that Riley had a great game. Haven't checked the box score, but I think he had eight points besides all the blocked shots.

8 rebounds 6 points 7blocks 3 fouls 5 turnovers, 2 turnovers 2 rebounds 2 blocks came in the last minute of play ,I really wonder at times if you Riley supporters even watch the game. ...

Da'Shonte wishes Super would get the numbers right.

Where did the 5 turnovers come from? The box score says 2.
The one during the game online had him with 5.

Not worth arguing though. You clearly watch a different game than everyone else does.

Not everyone else just his overly over supports on here. Most of the people I've talked to that really watch the game and know how the game is played worry about his lack of head for the game.

Cute, subtle dig there, even though you haven't the faintest idea what you're talking about.

His "lack of a head for the game" lead to 7 blocks (and many more altered shots) and The highest scoring team in our conference only mustering 8 points in the paint. But you find ways to whine and be a contrarian even after we blew out a 20-3 team. Congrats.
Thank you that is I pay attention. He got so many blocks because teams are not afraid of they for everyone he blocks they can go around for more. I only saw 3 altered shots. And as far turn over go if he is bouncing the ball after a rebound but can't get control of it or a pass goes throw his hands I count that as a turn over. And im done say what you will.

Oh, the changed the stats. 04-jawdrop

The stats are done automatically as they record each play by entering the info (i.e., player's number and play): "10 block" "23 Def. Rebound" and the running totals are updated just like totals would be updated in a spreadsheet.

That is why we have instanteous running box scores and player totals.

It isn't like they're done with paper and pencil and math errors are corrected after the game.

I find your statement of 5 Riley TOs during the game and only 2 after the game not credible.

A lot can happen in these last 6 games. We'll need some help, but a top 4 seed still isn't out of the question. It should be an exciting finish.

We, us posters, have a long week to prepare for NIU (game is Thursday, not Wednesday), but I can't understand how NIU is improving so much as this season progresses.

The ones during the game are unofficial the ones after the game are the official ones I don't understand your confusion? Mr expert. And oh by the way they are kept both ways a hard copy and electronically.

Just by simply watching the game, you could OBVIOUSLY see that Riley DID NOT have 5 turnovers! He played a great game. Give credit where its due!

This team is capable of winning out! Great win, dear I say, a SIGNATURE win!

This win helps EMU's RPI (although I'm not sure how much). EMU will need to win out and then win a few in the MAC tourny in order to get to 20 D1 wins. In the unlikely event they achieved that then they might be on the bubble for the NCAAs. An NIT berth is more realistic.

We don't have a prayer at an at-large birth into the tournament, but we still have a mathematical chance at winning the regular season conference title, which automatically qualifies you into the NIT. Having a decent RPI might help us in terms of seeding if we do win our conference tourney, but our at large chances are completely non existent. Too many losses and only 2 or 3 decent wins.

And I should have mentioned it to Super, but I was tracking Riley on the Sidearm stats during the game and BELIEVE ME he never had many TOs.

The notion that he had 5 during the games and mysteriously the official stats were 2 is silly.

On the main MAC board I implied this was our Super Bowl, and we were Seattle with a great defense going up against an offensive juggernaut, Denver, I mean, Toledo.

The best defense beat the best offense ala Super Bowl.

For folks who like simple stats, e.g., scoring margin, etc., we are 2nd to Buffalo in conference game scoring margin.

There are SIX teams who have a real shot at the championship in CLE next month.

I would go a step further, NO MAC team can get an at large. UT had a slim chance before yesterday's game.

RE: NIT. Our RPI was 78 I believe before yesterday's game. We might be a candidate to be a visiting NIT team if we make at least the semis in CLE.

My wife and I attended in our usual section 107 and were surrounded by a mix of Toledo and EMU fans, we also stayed for the women's game. Best $10 value period, I'll post my thoughts on the Bowling Green game in a seperate thread. Our student section is outrageous and alot of fun to watch-kudos to them. A great defensive game and once again Talley and Lee were drawing fouls. A ahem very physical game with alot of uncalled fouls on both ends. And of course some Toledo fans will blame this loss on the refs, but actually what won this was the defense.

And great to see all the HOF inductees and Earl posed with the student section-what struck me about all our HOF inductees is that many of them used their degree for public service after graduation. Dial graduated from Harvard Business College. And each one of those accomplishments was as impressive as what they did on the court, or on the field or on the track.

I heard parts of Boykins' acceptance speech: He married an EMU co-ed. 04-bow

Dear Friends,
If you want to have a few laughs, go over to the Toledo website. Most, but not all, are just a bunch of cry babies about their loss to Eastern. Every excuse in the book from Eastern plays boring basketball, to terrible referees, to all the Eastern players take steps, whatever. I could see where if the game was very close score wise, that their complaints might be valid, but a twenty point blow out? Toledo's team just did not play well period.

Haha I'm guessing not, thankfully. Very cool for DaShonte to get some love while contributing minimally on offense. A couple more performances like Saturday, and they might as well give him the conference DPOY early.
