Says There Are 50,000 Applications Sitting In A Pile…

Ironically the Mass exchange worked for several years under Romneycare, once they overhauled the system to comply with Obamacare it fell apart.

The head of the state’s beleaguered health insurance marketplace, which was once a national model, broke down in tears Thursday, as she described how demoralizing it has been for her staff to struggle with a broken website that has left an unknown number of people without coverage.

Jean Yang, the executive director of the Massachusetts Health Connector, wept at a board meeting, where it was disclosed that 50,000 applications for health insurance are sitting in a pile, and have yet to be entered into a computer system.

Each one of those applications requires two hours to process, adding to a mountain of work facing Connector staff as they scramble to prevent people from losing insurance, officials said.

“These people came here to lead and innovate, and instead they’re doing manual workarounds, and they are embarrassed to tell friends and family that they work for the Health Connector,” Yang said at the board meeting. [...]

The state’s health insurance website was working smoothly until October, when it was revamped to comply with the more complicated requirements of the federal health care law. Since then, it has been bedeviled by error messages and is often very sluggish or crashes entirely, officials said. That prompted the state to resort to old-fashioned paper applications, and to put many people in to temporary health plans. But an unknown number of others may be uninsured because of the paperwork backlog.

She's wrong. The system was broke. It needed fixed. Who cares if the fix now mistakenly appears to be broken? The compassionate intentions are all that matter, and they were sincere. If people are now left without insurance they used to have, then it's Bush's fault.

Think of all the people that have lost their good health insurance policies --- the millions....
imagine many of them have been in tears also.

Thank you President Obama. The nation gave you the power to destroy.
You have used it pretty much to it's maximum extent.

Why do we elect leaders who have no experience running anything? I can't wait for November.

10's of millions to lose their insurance, or already have.

3.3 million have "signed up" but many have not paid, nor ever will.

More laughably, only 11% of these good people are from the formerly uninsured. They all just got cancelled due to abOmonationcare and jumped to the "exchange" to have someone else pick up their tab. We have some of these folks right here on this board, new welfare recipients.

The end result? We had to have this travesty to insure the 30 million people without insurance (read- not without healthcare) CBO estimates in 5- 10 years? 31 miilion withour health insurance. lollll.

Well done again, progs. Well............Done.

those bastard sick people in MA that are dying because they got their health insurance canceled are just mean! they should die more quietly so the nice liberal lady that helped kill them doesn't feel bad about herself.

If elections were the cure for what ails us, we would have been healed and gotten well a long time ago.

I'm surprised that is still here. And I'm not quoting it intentionally.

There are people with bigger problems than the work of processing the 50,000 health insurance applications, and they are the people who those health insurance applications belong to -- the people who's very health is in the hands of a self centered, erratic woman with selfish priorities.
