Monroe pre-game
They are 7-12 and 4-7 in conference. They have wins at the two Alabama teams and over stAte and ULL at home. So, they are able to go toe-to-toe in the Belt, in contrast to the last few seasons. And, in contrast to past seasons, they do have a little bit of size, and will likely start 6-8, 6-7, 6-6 across the front line.

They shoot only 31.9% as a team from the arc, and 63.8% from the line. They rebound basically even with the opposition. Three players average double figures, and like last year, it is not their point guard who leads the team in assists, but Jayon James at 6-6.

RE: Monroe pre-game
They will be tough to beat at their place. Definitely better than they were last year.

I didn't think we had a shot at ULL, so I won't count our guys out.

RE: Monroe pre-game
The second-stringers have to have a lot more confidence now.

That's the one good thing about coming back from a 19 point deficit rather than losing by 30. No matter who plays today, they know they can win.

I tell you, when Hill scores 15 points, and Stetson has 11 rebounds, good things are happening.

I'm going to take the Dr. J "glass half-full attitude". This is going to make are bench players better and more confident. Will and James will be at full strength come tournament time. Leroy should be fine by then as well. Mareik, I don't know what his problem is, but let's assume he will be fine. We will be a stronger team for the adversity. We are 2 guards short, Kemi and JT, but we were deepest there. In the end seeding hasn't mattered much lately. We won 4 straight games and WKU has won 4 games the past 2 tournaments.

It is a little frustrating that we do not know even what the available roster will be. Hard to feel either optimistic or depressed.

RE: Monroe pre-game
It has not been often in the conference season that we have gone into a game with a size disadvantage, but assuming Will does not play, that is where we will be tonight.

Ben has to step up tonight. That is all there is to it.

RE: Monroe pre-game
Well, if BTH has the starting lineup correct for tonight, we will get a glance at next season, because none of them will be seniors.
