Neighbor semi finals. Sweeds vs Finns, Yanks against Canucks.

Final prediction? Not my hope, Sweden vs Canada. Too be Hank won't be playing.

I think it'll be Norway vs the US. I feel like Canada is just physically and emotionally gassed after that Latvia game. Plus, the way the US is passing the puck as of late is just insane.

Finland. Rask has been stellar in net and I think the Swedes are just off their game. They didn't particularly run train through that cake-walk of a group and got a fairly easy draw in the Quarters. Finland damn near beat Canada, then downed Russia.

RE: Olympic Hockey
I'm actually a big fan of Team Finland. They got hit by the injury bug but they're fun to watch. Love how Selanne called Cindy out for diving in their pool game.

Team Sweden without Hank is more beatable. With him they're money.

Canada is scary good, if they come out of their funk, it could be ugly. The ONLY real weakness they have is in goal and that's not really weak by any measure. I hope team USA plays their game, keeps them out at center ice reacting to us for two periods and we can steal one. And it would be a steal too, as good as we are this year.

Wow ... the US Women's team really fell apart in the 3rd of the gold medal match to lose to Canada... they were getting out skated for most of the game but gritted out two goals to go ahead 2-0... Then they just couldn't grit out any more and eventually lost 3-2... depressing. I am surprised at how they decided to just sit back in the neutral zone for almost the entire 3rd period...

RE: Olympic Hockey
Ehhh, they usually dropped their defenders back and played a counter-attack. Their forwards playing back was surprising.

That weak slashing call to counter out the US 4-on-3 powerplay just 5 seconds in was the killer. If you see a replay, you'll never see a weaker call. A stick-tap at best on a shot that the Canadian goaltender held. Every hockey player in the world that is in front of the net swings for the rebound, and that call was bogus.

They looked like Blasi and Miami in the 2009 NCAA final

Canada Beats the US Men 1-0. Biggest blowout in a 1-0 game i've ever seen. After the first period it wasn't even a game anymore.

That game reminded me of WMU vs Denver in the NCAAs when we lost a 2 - 0 lead in the final 3 minutes and lost in OT. Playing not to lose is not going to get you the win. They stopped attacking.

As for the men, I'm not surprised by the result. Canada was that good.
