more love from CFN (from Richard Cirminiello's quick outs segment):
Uhh, we may have to rethink our opinion of the Big East, the conference everyone loves to rip. The league went 5-1 with nice wins over Virginia and North Carolina. Cincinnati and UConn look much improved compared to last year, and West Virginia and Louisville are poised to assume the role of ranked representatives. All in all, not too shabby for a league that

That would be the ultimate revenge. Especially if the ACC only wins the one game against Syracuse. I wonder if Bush's injury will weaken Louisville too much against Miami, but I think they still have enough firepower to beat them. WVU's road to repeat in the BCS game just got a bit easier, although I hate to see it happen this way.

Quote:The BE should have been favored in 7 games so why love. 2 1aa schools, 2 non bcs schools.. not sure if EK is 1aa or div1. and kentucky which is same as an non bcs... VA is down... and wake which is only above duke in ACC. If the BE won less than 6 they would have had a very bad start.
this isnt a knock on the BE... U did what u should have done with who U played. U should have been the favorite in 6 of these games and a push in another.
How should the Big East been favored in 7 of those games when 1 game going into was a push and Rutgers was on the road. We did what we was supposed to do and in Pitt, WVU and UofL case it was blowout wins. Don't hate, did much better then the MIGHTY ACC and Miami and FSU looked like crap last night. The Hurricanes better score more then 10 points in order to beat us in Papa John's. Our DBs may have issues but we will score over 30 on Miami.

I think rutgers is better than NC.. even if u say that should be a push.. they still should be favored in 6. which is what i said in 2nd part of quote.. and what i should have said in 1st part typo... I'm not knocking u guys u had a good week... but U did what u should have done.. if u were playin a bunch of top 10 teams and lost the ones u should lose u still would have done what u should have done. UM is no kentucky... they will score at least 21 on louisville. my predict is UM 21... Louisville 10.. but time will tell.

UNC was the favorite in that game by the odds makers and betters.

This is why the LOVE. The Big East is doing what it is supposed to do which is a vast improvement over last year when we were not taking care of business and loosing games that we should have been winning. That's a step up. That deserves love. The next step is to win a few games that we're not expected to win and trust me...that's coming too.

Unfortunately, since the hurricanes lost to Florida St...if we beat them it will be no big deal...they'll say, you were supposed to win that one.

CUSA had 9 non-league games. Some were talking about 6-3, I told them 5-4 would be better than any weekend they had all of last year. The rational ones agreed with me.
They went 3-6. Or 1-6 against I-A teams. Much like last year, a poor week for the league against BCS foes.
And UCF fan, the Big East one games they were not supposed to win according to Vegas, the league was not expected to go 7-1.

The teams in CUSA that were favored going in won.. UTEP, UCF, and Tulsa played lesser teams and won... Houston played in conf and was favored and won... Memphis, played a BCS sec team and lost close , ECU played a navy team that has been bowling most of the time and lost.. ECU was and should have been the underdogs... UAB, USM, and marshall played top 10 schools and lost as they should have done. cant remember who the other 2 played.. but over all my predict going in was 4-8 or at best 5-7 week 1. they won 4.

The facts are that the Big East in the first week did verty well going 7-1 and 3-1 vs BCS conferences. Look at the other conferences and most of them failed to win games they should have won.
