I dont get no UC vs. UCF for the second straight year . AAC missing out on a potential marquee game.

ECU seems to be the biggest conf opponent at home. I know ECU has big home crowds. Doe they travel well?

AAC is increasing their odds of one of the speculated Top 2 being undefeated by having them not play each other. Smart move on the conference's part.

I commented on this last year but I think our best attendance opportunity could be Miami. They'll bring a few thousand alums to PBS (most of which won't drive to Oxford for their home games) to supplement our crowd.
If Houston could be a decent crowd if the game is scheduled late in the season and we are fighting the Coogs for a conference title.
East Carolina will travel OK, especially given it will be a novelty for their fans. A lot of the casual locals will stay home, especially if OSU, Notre Dame or Michigan are playing a half way decent opponent during the same time.

OSU will probably a s s rape us next year. Was hoping that Braxton Miller wasn't going to be around.

Yeah, it won't really be all that close if we're honest. That offense will eviscerate our defense. Losing out two mainstays up the middle (Stepp and Blair) is going to make it mighty hard for us to stop pretty much anything on the ground against that team.

That's what I think too.
That's the only thing that explains it. And with UC having to play off campus, they could have put this at UCF and been guarenteed a sellout on ESPN. Just like the Houston/Rutgers/USF games last year.

Playing Devil's Advocate, they replace 4 out of 5 offensive linemen, lose their two runningbacks in Carols Hyde and Jordan Hall and suffered key losses in their secondary. The Hyde loss is huge-- not so sure if them losing their secondary is a negative for them.
We will be their 4th game of the year and they have a bye week before playing us. I wish we would get them sooner.

Yep, have to love how their suspensions just happened to be 3 weeks too.
I still think they will be able to manhandle us in the trenches on each side of the ball. Also, while the losses of Hyde and Hall are huge, if you watched Bri'onte Dunn and Dontre Wilson run the ball last season, you'll agree that they'll still be able to run the ball quite well.
There's always a chance, but I just can't see it being very big.

I agree. For the casual fan not a UC grad, why would this home schedule make you want to come to the game. We have to get out of this conference. None of these teams besides ECU fill up their own stadiums, why would they travel. (02-12-2014 04:37 PM)mlb Wrote: Attendance is going to be awful next year.

Unfortunately we had our once in a lifetime chance to beat O$U and we dropped the ball...twice in the endzone.

Once in a lifetime? Not at all. We would have smacked them in 2009 and id argue wed have beaten them a few years since then. It at least would have been a game, especially if it was at the Nip, like they originally agreed to do.

Um, UCF averaged 43K last year. We missed a sellout average because the noon UConn game didn't draw well. Beyond that, it was 41K for Akron, 47K for USC (sellout) , 44K for Houston, 43K for Rutgers, 46K for USF (sellout, no thanks to USF fan).
