I thought he had ownership in the Arlington team...?

I think Nolen gave up any interest in the Rangers.
I am glad the Astros are pleasing the fans by honoring Berkman and Oswalt. The fans have previously been neglected by the new ownership with the Astros not really being available on television. I know the Astros had to rebuild but they could do more to make the fans feel welcome in the meantime.

RE: OT - Lance Berkman to Retire as Houston Astro
I have pretty much agreed with every on the field move Astros have made. Yes they broke up the team and have lost 100 games a year for three straight years. But the team they broke up was going to lose 100 games too--and did in 2011. And they have gone from the worst farm system in baseball--by a wide margin--to the best--by a wide margin. Not every one of their prospects will make it. But there are so many who are so good that it's hard to believe that a bunch of them won't. This really reminds me of the Morgan, Wynn, Staub, Dierker, Wilson, Cuellar, Rader, Cedeno, Watson, Mayberry, Colbert, Giusti, Geronimo, Jackson bunch of the late 1960s. If management has the good sense to keep them together--and I think this management team does--we could very easily be looking at 10 division championships and 5 World Series championships by 2030. My biggest negative was that I like Brad Mills a lot and was sorry to see him go, but Brad was going to have a heart attack if they didn't get him away from the stress of losing so many games. Otherwise, I can't think of one thing I would have done differently.
Off the field has been exactly the opposite. I disagree with just about everything George Postolos did. I am hopefully optimistic that bringing the Ryans means they're going to get that side in order.

The late 1960s management did not know what they had so they messed it up. Now, the Astros are being built from the bottom up by design so I think they will be kept.
Good riddance to Postolos since the fans have been mistreated in the interim. The lack of TV is one part of it and the other is lack of incentives to get he fans to the ballpark. The Ryans were good about treating the fans of the Corpus Christi Hooks. I have not been to Round Rock to see what is going on there so the only comment I have is that others have said it is going well.
The Astros have the manager they need now to encourage the team to not lose heart in the present lean pickings.
