Nice road win. Second straight game with 70+ points. Solid game from our starting guards, and a hell of a defensive showing from Riley. Nice to see Raven and Talley get to the FT line. We were money from there for most of the game.

Big one on saturday. Hope as many of you can get out there as possible.

EMU 68
BSU 59

I'm going to doing a different method:

EMU 72,
CMU 59.

So I'll go EMU 72, BSU 59. 04-cheers

I think we're ready for another big game.

04-cheers EagleSam and I nailed it.

Riley reminds me a goalie...

I haven't seen the final stats but beside the blocks he had a lot of steals.

Those steals mean a lot.

A steal is worth more than a block. Blocks are usually 50 - 50. Don't know who will get possession of the block. A steal, by definition, is a change of possession from offense to defense.

RE: GameDay: @Ball State (a day early)
One of my favorite stats from tonight...Mike Talley 3pt: 0/0

He's at his best when he's attacking the basket and setting up shots for others or getting to the line. Mike isn't a very good shooter. When he's settling for threes, that's bad. He didn't do that tonight, and had a fantastic game.

3 fouls mean nothing. Irrelevant. Is 3 good or bad? Gee, I don't know. I'd guess good.

SIX blocks is key.

And I said, defense: 6 blocks + 3 steals. I didn't say offense: 3 TOs.

Excuse me Steve but as a 7 footer going against 6'9s and 6'8s and gets back into the offense by walking he isn't much of a factor over all and is highly over rated. .
Braun wouldn't even want him on the team he reminds me a lot of Torrie Mills great talent no head for the game. and as far as comparing Dials and Lee you are comparing apples and potatoes and claim that taste like chicken.

I think the primary point posters (plural) was about Dial and Lee is that Lee is putting up better FROSH numbers than Dial.

And, if I remember the post correctly, a poster, think it was EagleSam, said Lee is averaging more as a FROSH than Boykins did as a frosh.

Will Lee develop ala Dial? I don't know. Yogi Berra warned about the dangers of trying to predict the future... ;-)

Riley is what Riley is: Excellent defender. Sub-par on offense. But to deny his defense because of his offense, is both unfair and factually inaccurate and intellectually dishonest. 04-chairshot

I agree that the key to the game was our guards slipping past Ball St guards ie turning the corner on them and drawing the fouls. In the past our point and shooting guards didn't have the speed do that and we had little or no drives inside. Lets see if that strategy continues as we move through the remainder of the season.

His defense is average at best. You go by the veneer of his defensive abilities not the whole. In other words other teams do not fear him he gives up more on defense than is gained in blocked or changed shots. Very unlike Theron Wilson now there was a shot blocker to be feared!07-coffee3

The speed of our guards is the same only opponent has changed. Ball st as Steve has pointed out isn't a good team and one we should have beaten handily.07-coffee3
