Why drink milk when everyone in Statesboro has a micro distillery in their garage?

We are already bigger, faster, stronger & more agile than state. Of course we don’t have the “DOME" with 7,500 rabid fans in attendance nor the Atlanta media reporting on all our football losses, but I feel that somehow GaSo will make due!

The cornucopia of fact! 03-nutkick

In 2011 & 2012 our coaches started having the players drink Chocolate Milk to help speed up recovery after their workouts.

We made the semi finals both years while State went 3-8 and 1-10.

You city boys better watch out. Our farm raised, milk drinking, tire flipping, good ole boys are going to come up to the dome and punch you guys in the mouth.

What are you going to do about it?

Go back to what ATL is good at... writing tunes for the club. Football ain't your thing, city boy.

Academic smack manifests itself strangely in Statesboro.

In Atlanta football smack tends to turn into comparing number of moderately rated doctorate programs.

Just like their AD and President in the SBC meetings last Spring, some facts shut them right up about their self proclaimed academic superiority.

UAB is ranked higher by USNWR than every SBC school and is listed as one of the Top 500 Universities in the world by ARWU.

That could be relevant if you weren't ranked in an entirely different category than most of the SBC. US News ranks Master's Level (Regional) and Doctoral level (National) schools differently.

Lets get one thing striaght. There is no way no how that Southern equals or beats State academically. What is Southern's Carnegie ranking?

Let me help you out.

Georgia Southern: DRU
Georgia State: RU/VH

How about UNWR Rankings

Georgia Southern: ranked in 11 categories
http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreview...l-rankings

Georgia State: ranked in 38 categories
http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreview...l-rankings

Just for fun go to GSU.edu and scroll to the bottom and watch the a What Others Are Saying About GSU ticker go by. Yep just like Southern.

State isn't the academic world beaters your 6 fans think you are. Fact is, we are on a huge upswing while you guys are either staying the same or moving backwards. The proof in the pudding is shown by the ever increasing academic quality of the student we are accepting which as has been mentioned is now higher than State. All this touting your 6 fans said about how we are no none and nobody outside the state of Georgia knows who we are? Well check out this nugget today from Benson.

“We (the Sun Belt) had nothing to do with selecting those games,” Benson said. “ESPN dictates which games they want, and they wanted Georgia Southern, which is a tribute to the program and its fan base. This stadium will look great on television.”

http://www.macon.com/2014/04/12/3044686/...9/160/165/

Our President mentioned athletics being the front porch of our university. We are about to get the National Exposure we need to make a difference. The powder keg we are sitting on is about to explode. You guys will still be the best commuter school Atlanta has to offer and you will continue to be known just as that.

Hope you enjoyed the one year in the SBC without us. It's all down hill from here on out for Ga State both on the athletics and academic side of things.

Whatever will we do now?! Can see the headlines now. Georgia Southern joins SBC; GSU stops being a national research university. LOL!

You better hope Levick stays forever. By the way we signed Kevin Ware yesterday.

No, you will continue to be a research university. But you'll just continue to become more and more irrelevant on both fronts as the days go by. Big deal you signed Ware. If he was still playing at a high level, he never would have left Louisville for State.

It's more like most of us know exactly how this "argument" is going to go, so we know to stay the hell away. We're going to point out how we we do a lot more research and have more ranked programs. You're going to point out the average SAT scores of incoming students. If you only care about research, we "win." If you only care about SAT scores, you "win." I'm not sure why Panama can't help himself when it comes to feeding the trolls on this front, but whatever...I'm glad to see some pride in GS fans over something besides Eagle football and Statesboro bars.

BTW, I have yet to be convinced that the whole Becker story from the SBC meetings is true. SAT comparisons had been thrown out ad nauseam by GS fans on message boards...really hard for me to believe that PMB was completely thrown off his game by that "revelation" at the meetings. Not that I think he's combing message boards, but if all of us rubes know stuff like that, it has to trickle up to the big boys.
