Marcus Smart
Who saw Marcus Smart SHOVE a fan in the OK State/Texas Tech game?

Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.

RE: Marcus Smart
No excuses for Smart...but I want to know what was said. Something happened because Smar was livid and was point at that fan all the way to the bench. OSU should have sent him to the locker room, they're lucky there wasn't a situation after the buzzer.

Jeff Orr is the name of the Texas Tech fan who apparently told Smart to "go back to Africa.... n-word".

Imagine if someone said that to a player like... Pierre Henderson-Niles............

Yeah, I'm seeing that pop up everywhere as what the guy said. I still don't support touching a fan, but man do I understand it more. Saying something like that to a 19 year old kid is disgusting.

I watched the replay right after it happened over and over (as ESPN kept showing it) and each time it was more apparent than the last that the fan went too far.

As Smart is coming up you can see the fan saying something. Smart questions him and the fan immediately realizes he's not as safe and untouchable as he thinks he is and appears to start and apologize while at the same time bringing his hands up defensively THEN Smart pushes him. That guy knew he said something bad and was preparing for the result.

There are videos and pictures of this guy all over the internet taunting other teams and is even hated by most of Texas Techs fanbase.

Would be interesting to find out if the guy actually said that or if the school fell back on the ole tried and true excuse to rationalize the pushing of a fan by a player.

Lubbuck red neck ... sits in a sea of Lubbuck red necks. Calls the dude the N . word ... laughs about it ... gets patted on the back by the Red Sea afterwards.
This dude needs to be banned from sitting in the lower levels ... and Marcus needs to sit a game.
ESPN needs to stay out of it. Won't happen. But they always go to far ... take it to the View. 04-chairshot

I don't know what he said...but Smart came up PISSED. You're going to have a very, very hard time convincing people the fan didn't cross some line with his words. What Smart did was inexcusable...but there is a point where you can understand his reaction and not judge him too harshly.

We have no idea what was or was not said. The problem is i have never heard of any word that can be said that can justify violence. The fan may be the stupidest idiot on earth. But justifying violence because of a spoken word is a major problem. We have too many people who rationalize the use of violence based on the spoken word. If someone can get you to the point of violence just by calling you a name then it says something about you.

Bolded past of my last statement...just in case you overlooked it.

However, this notion that fans are above reproach when it comes to their actions or words is utter bullspit...especially when dealing with unpaid college kids. If the fan said what he is accused if say, his fat ass needs to receive punishment too. Too many people think buying a ticket means they bought a free pass to be a total jerk and treat a bunch of kids in a way they wouldn't treat a random stranger on the street. In fact, if you wouldn't walk up to a stranger and say it, you shouldn't say it at a game either.

I was at a game vs. Billikens at Keil when someone apparently either called one of our players or Larry the slur. He almost went in to the stands.
