2017 Cowboys Classic game vs. Florida to net Michigan $6 Million...
I guess Jerry Jones will drag out the extra seats for this game - to pay $12 MM to the teams, this will mean an average ticket price of $120 with a paid admission of 100,000.

Hard to believe this will make money. It's not practical for fans of either school to drive to Arlington, unlike last time when the Alabama faithful were close enough to make the trip by car. Sure it could sell out, but not likely at premium prices. ESPN will have to drop a pretty penny on this game to make it cash flow.

ESPN is paying in money as well, though, so they don't need $12 MM in ticket revenue to break even.
Though, it would seem to make more sense to play a neutral site Michigan-Florida game at a place more convenient for both fan bases, like the Titans' stadium in Nashville or the Redskins' stadium in Maryland. Or, to have a Big Ten-SEC game at the Cowboys' stadium between, say, Nebraska and Arkansas.
Another thought: Nebraska-Mizzou at Arrowhead Stadium in KC? Some promoter could make that happen.

Also you're forgetting parking, food, drinks, and merchandise sales. Those are very significant.
Figure $15/seat for parking (wiki says they charge $40-75 per car), $35/seat for food, drinks, & merchandise. Charge $150 for the 20,000 seats on the 50-yard line and $50/ticket for 80,000 peons. That's $12 million.
All the luxury box revenue and TV money is pure profit.

To charge those prices, it must remain "special"; no single school could do this every year. In fact, it'll be interesting to see how much Michigan falls off, having been there before.

Dallas is a super easy destination by plane, though, since it is the major hub for American Airlines. I bet Detroit and Jacksonville have direct flights and may even get a couple more on that weekend.

For the TCU-LSU game this past season, the seats ranged from $70-250. For the Alabama-Michigan game, the best seats were in the $400 range. So, takuing those 2 into account, I would expect prices to range somewhere between $100-400. That's a pretty penny, but there will be enough people that save up and go.

Oklahoma U and Texas U each earn $7/M from their Dallas/Cotton Bowl game.

In contrast, here were the ticket prices for the Notre Dame "home game" at Jerry Jones' palace last October:
"Ticket prices are $132 for club seats, $110 for lower level reserved seats and $88 for 400 level reserved seats. There will be a limit of eight tickets per order. Advanced parking, priced at $45 per vehicle, is also available for purchase through Ticketmaster at this time."

This wasn't a true "neutral site" game, but an ND home game moved to Dallas.
ND controlled the tickets/gate and it was already under contract to be televised by NBC, so I am guessing that Arizona State did not get that big of a payout.
