I saw this and didn't even think it was luke warm. Someone at NIU must have offended him.

RE: Edgy Tim's thoughts on NIU Recruits
Edgy Tim is definitely cold to NIU in his recruiting coverage. He needs to get over it and act like an unbiased journalist. He is only hurting himself and his reputation.

RE: Edgy Tim's thoughts on NIU Recruits
Seemed fine to me... I agree with him. Its not like we picked up a 5 star recruit or a few 4 stars. I know that its all relative, and to us this is a good recruiting class, but if we were Alabama then maybe not so much... Anyway, He makes a really good point about 'recruiting dillema'. Part of the reason NIU is successful is because they are able to find good players that go under the radar. If we get away from that in the future, we may begin to fall under.

Well hells bells, we didn't sign any one from St Mother of Marys parish. If you don't sign locals with him you failed.

Let's see 9 from IL, 7 from WI, 2 from IN, 1 from MI, MO, KS, and NE. Guess that isn't local enough for him. Doesn't include Carter from IN

RE: Edgy Tim's thoughts on NIU Recruits
I saw nothing wrong, biased or negative about this article. I do not read his stuff other than links to what is posted on this forum so I don't know how his NIU coverage compares to his coverage of other programs.

Yeah, I dont subscribe but I've seen some of the topics on his board and many posters can get way over the top with high schools sports. I imagine many are parents of HS athletes.
What's next for Edgy.....a "Junior High" Board?

Lables Landon Root as a "sleeper".....?

huh? I guess I don't see anything wrong either. Seemed positive, and his last comment he seems to understand we're getting better recruits, but that it could change the type of player we've had, which makes sense.

What a laugh, as if you and some of the folks on here are unbiased. Get real, you, me and most on here are Huskie fans, period; so we're not exactly unbiased. The problem is when you and some on here automatically assume if an article isn't 100% praising NIU or positive then something's wrong.

Not a bad article IMO. Speaking of recruits, has there been any news for recruits on the basketball team or is there no scholarships available for this year?

Some of you are way too sensitive. There isn't one thing in the article that is even remotely critical of the Huskies' recruiting class. I found it to be a pretty positive review. Get some help for your inferiority complex.

RE: Edgy Tim's thoughts on NIU Recruits
I don't see anything wrong with the article, pretty decent analysis for the casual fan. Edgy is fine to NIU, not huge coverage but some decent analysis. Edgy's problem is his IHSA bias. Yes, we've found gems in state...lynch, wolfe, turner. But our bread has been buttered finding even more gems out of state, down south. Ward, Moore, Hurd, TL Lewis, bass, etc.

He tries not to be obvious with his NIU info but his wording sows it. I recall his stories on the
IHSA FB finals where he was subtle in his comments but his Illini bias showed up.
I have no reason to like or dislike the man so I feel that mine is an unbiased opinion.

RE: Edgy Tim's thoughts on NIU Recruits
I thought the article was fine also. I also think agree that we need to try to get 3* recruits from Illinois as well as other states. All of our rate athletes came from other states.
And why do we keep recruiting WRs under 5'10"?

Because I think we've figured out that when it comes to skill positions 2 star down south > 3 star in IL. Hogmolly's are different.
We have multiple big WR's on the roster. Go get playmakers, that's what this class was about.

I don't get this comment:
"I feel Northern Illinois could eventually be facing a recruiting dilemma. "
What's the dilemma?
