Well there is the Florida Panthers of the NHL, but they play at the BB&T Center

Completely slipped my mind, maybe their practice arena? They're out of Miami right? Just a short drive.

They're out of Sunrise, Florida, in between Miami and Boca.

This arena just changed its name from the Saveology Iceplex to the Panthers IceDen. It has been the practice arena for the Florida Panthers and the home arena for FAU for about a decade now. I'm not sure if FIU has a team, I don't ever remember seeing them on our schedule. Even if they did, this arena is only about 15 miles away from our campus in Boca, and would be a very time consuming drive for a little kitty friends down in Miami.
FGCU is the powerhouse of the Southern division, which includes many teams from the SEC and ACC. CUSA teams in this division are #10 Charlotte, #13 East Carolina, #15 Florida Atlantic, Old Dominion, and Tulane, Many AAC programs compete including USF and UCF.

Are we talking about incredible ice in Coral Springs? I thought that was where the panthers practice. I'm not much of a hockey fan.

I would assume your school also has a Club/DIII team?
The FAU Ice Hockey Team competes in the ACHA Div. III (Southeast Region), and has been doing so for more than a decade now. FAU’s main campus is located in the heart of Boca Raton, just minutes from beaches, malls, clubs, and fine dining. FAU provides an ideal setting for any player looking to continue their playing career at a highly competitive level. This is a serious program with players who have competed at various levels including Junior A, AA, AAA, Prep School, and Travel Hockey. The Owls play at the only triple-ice facility south of Washington D.C., the Saveology IcePlex in Coral Springs, FL. This facility is also the official practice rink of the NHL Florida Panthers.

I'm guessing I know it as incredible ice because that's the name of the rink open to the public. It's across the street from my old middle school. When school let out they would dump ice shavings around back and we would have "snowball fights". That's the closest we got to the real thing in South Florida.

I'm amazed that the sport of hockey (which I love, by the way) has such a lingering foothold in the state of Florida.

Kind of makes me wish Greenville had a "regulation" ice rink for hockey, because Bladez is too small.

ACHA is still club hockey right? My roommate sophomore year was ODU's goalie until he dropped off the team (and seemingly off the face of the earth)
