Official CSNbbs App for iOS Now Available
Notes:
1) Cost: FREE

2) This rolls in the tablet abilities of the presently non-free Android Tapatalk Pro if you have a recent tablet.

3) This has advertising (also from Google) which obeys all the present rules for ads on CSNbbs... which is to say you see no ads if you are logged in and a: mod, supermod, admin, skunkworks, early donor, and/or ad-free premium.

4) Be sure to remove CSNbbs from Tapatalk if you still use that for other boards.

5) Quick links have been added to the bottom of the main board listing ... this should be especially useful for those using the app.

OSX is ok. Just don't like the iPhone/iPad os. About 3 years out dated.

RE: Official CSNbbs App for iOS Now Available
OS X is actually the far more hideous of those under the hood. What Apple has done to BSD is truly horrific.

While iOS is better technically ... it has *THE* most insane developer policies and procedures and mandates and rules and guidelines of all time. I'd rather have the plague than a career of making iOS apps. I'm a strictly Linux only guy ... from desktop to mobile to servers. I managed to pull off the non-trivial trick of releasing an iOS app without owning a Mac or an iOS device. Apple's between the lines condensed first paragraph for developing an app should read:

"Not able to willing to beat on OS X hard enough to get it to run in a VM? In a corporate environment that won't let you violate our EULA by installing OS X on anything other than a Mac? Not willing to use third party middleware which does indeed produce apps for both Android and iOS but without deep integration into either? Give us $1,200. $600 for the cheapest Mac available. $500 for the cheapest iOS device available. $100 (annually) for an iOS developer account. If you want a decent iOS device and Mac ... go ahead and make it $2,400. For an app that you'll likely only be able to charge $1 for ... and of course we'll take a huge cut of that transaction too, that is whatever the banksters left after the merchant fees."

That being said ... there are more iOS than Android devices access the site, and I won't hold our end user's bad hardware choice against them.
