We need to get 6-7 teams each year in the top 100. Most likely that will give us 2-3 teams in the NCAAs and a couple more in the NIT.

It would improve about 10 spots

WP should be AWP (adjusted winning percentage)
Is strange that a southern miss athletic dept employee, that eschewed a RPI inner working knowledge base, and got paid for it!!!!!!!!, would ask this question.

It's clear to anyone with the least bit of a math background that 75% of the formula is weighted to the schools/conference who have a Duke, Syracuse, Ohio St., UCLA, etc. within their conference. A school within a weaker conference will be significantly underscored v. a team in a stronger conference due to the continual compounding of the OWP and OOWP. Add to this the kick-start of the B1G v. ACC challenge and other similar scheduling and you really have little chance to get a significant number of schools above the 100 ranking. You do have schools in any one year, like Witchita St., who make huge runs to pull their conferences up but I think it's clear to see that those opportunities are few and far between.
If I were a G5 administrator, or any D1 hoops conference administrator, I would try to form a coalition of other non-P5 conferences to lobby the NCAA (who we all know is significantly controlled by the P5) to increase the weighting of the (A)WP and reduce the O/OWP within the formula to get a fairer valuation of the other 250 schools that play D1 basketball. After all, that formula is not written in stone; someone had to derive it that way for what ever reasons. ( $$$ and control)
Just like the British in India, one day their going to realise that they're significantly outnumbered.

yet we started finished in top 35 last couple of years (ain't lookin' it up, but I'm close)
nailed the perception value of things though....that was my fear last year with our final RPI value getting no respect....welcome to the conference

Another embarrassing loss by Charlotte. Just a ridiculous performance. Tulane is terrible.
Which means Charlotte is even worse. They easily have 6 losses they have no excuse for. What a miserable program right now.

Tulane is terrible against teams with strong inside games. And if they couple that with pressing us and wearing us out, they maul us.
But Tulane has 3 good guards and decent enough shooters to hang with everyone else on most nights. Thus 4-4 in league play.

Marshall lost to NT by 15. NT lost to Tulane by 9. USM smoked Tulane by too many to count.
...so how is Marshall - a team that very well may lose to Tulane in a few days - taking care of USM right now?
C-USA makes no damn sense.

Charlotte is just doing a tour of the basement, trying to decide if we want to move into the spare bedroom down there.

No dice on the Tulane game, but the 49ers still have a chance to lose at Southern Miss.

If this was the Big 10, it would be "look how great teams there are and how deep this league is."
