...last week we were #11 seed....won both our games in dominating fashion and he drops us to #12, lol. What gives.

And spare me the "those projections are ridiculous yada yada".....we get it, they mean nothing, diddly squat. But they are interesting and they spur the topic for discussion.

We've only played one game in the last 11 days.

In the one game we played since the previous bracketology, we beat one of smu's future conference foes by 31 points in a game that wasn't that close. It would be more accurate to say smu took advantage of better opportunities.

We also need to realize that until this conference does something to justify being considered a multi bid conference every year, we are going to be nothing more than filler to guys like lunardi and palm...teams to stick in wherever they have an empty spot on their bracket.

Agreed. We don't play in a vacuum. Other teams are playing games as well. SMU had a huge win over Memphis.

If that were a true bracket, I wouldn't be mad at USM's spot at all against the potential opponents.

And you're surprised - why? Southern Miss has been to the NCAA tourney only twice and not since the 1990's. They'll have to win the Conference USA tourney to get an invitation.

SMU would not pound Southern Miss in a basketball game this season. Who would win is debatable.

Southern Miss would not pound Memphis in a basketball game this season. Memphis would have to be the favorite to win a close game.

I would love for Southern Miss to get another shot at Louisville. UL is not the same team since they lost Chane Behanan, and that game was an outlier for both teams. Southern Miss played their worst game of the season, and UL played above their heads. Those games happen sometimes. See the Creighton at Villanova game this year and you will see that it happens to top 10 teams also.

Southern Miss WILL pound Memphis if we catch them in the dance.

Actually I miss what CBS had for us.. they've had us at 11 or 12 quite a bit, but they've had us going up against Virginia, Memphis and Iowa State at various times..

They've had us in the Indianapolis bracket a bit, while Lunardi seems to think we'd have gone to San Diego in a few of his bracketologies.

There's no doubt the AAC will be a solid basketball conference moving forward but it's too top heavy with maybe two middle of the pack teams and the bottom is really really bad. Kind of like the MWC the last few years.

When your conference is not named ACC, Big Ten, Big XII, Pac-12 and SEC.....all of us will be judged by how we do in the NCAA Tournament and OOC games. Remember the MWC was the #1 RPI conference and they stank in the NCAA's.
