Southern Miss would not pound Memphis in a basketball game this season. Memphis would have to be the favorite to win a close game.

I would love for Southern Miss to get another shot at Louisville. UL is not the same team since they lost Chane Behanan, and that game was an outlier for both teams. Southern Miss played their worst game of the season, and UL played above their heads. Those games happen sometimes. See the Creighton at Villanova game this year and you will see that it happens to top 10 teams also.

Southern Miss WILL pound Memphis if we catch them in the dance.

Depends.... If USM is ranked, then tiger-law comes into play. 03-shhhh

I still think you guys take the tourney in El Paso...

LA Tech is pretty dang good. They're about to beat Tulsa, and played UTEP really well in El Paso.

UTEP

La Tech
MTSU
UAB

It will be a war in El Paso...but when the Don is packed, it's a hornets nest for UTEPs opponents...that Memphis v UTEP title game was so intense I about had a heart attack just watching it on TV.

Nobody should discount UTEP's fan base resolve....and after watching the ECU game....we are going to have our hands full.

They play slow tempo on offense and bury 'em with a few seconds on the clock, have guys that can easily break our press over the top, and are thick and tall inside.

These guys are going to be a problem for us.

DT is going to have our guys penetrate and attempt to get them in foul trouble quick. ...and that's pretty much our game, but if we get the refs that called the game in Greenville, we're in trouble.

That has to be our strategy. Even with their lack of depth and b/c of their slow tempo style, we can't wear them down.

Gonna be a great game to watch stink. We've played you both and both played us about the same. Gonna be a dogfight. Just wish we could have had both of you at home rather than on the road, and wish the tourney was on a neutral court.

We definitely got a favorable home schedule this year....we needed it...'bout time we got a break 03-wink

You guys have trememdous quickness and speed. If they could just make free throws 03-wink You guys could win against just about anyone on any given night.

And there is no doubt....the UTEP game for us is going to be a battle.

Yeah, they are definitely a half court team. The good news with that is that they don't force a lot of turnovers (11.6/game) and turnovers are often an Achilles heel for us.

Their size definitely worries me, though. Their wings are as big as our center and then they go 7-1 and 6-11 inside.

In my completely biased view, I'd switch UAB for Charlotte, if the Niners can get hot, again.

Personally, I agree that him dropping us to a 12 seed didn't make much sense, but I really don't care. And unless we are going to be a 5 or 6 seed, then I am more than happy to stay an 11 or 12 seed. I have no desire to be a 7-10 seed.

Also, would love to see Southern Miss play SMU and Memphis this year. I think those would be really good games.

given our level of respect, the 12 spot is our best option for success....8-9 is pretty much a one game death wish...even if we leave the pep band at home 03-wink

hell, we gotta make the dance before we can attempt the tango

I simply forgot to list them, it wasn't intentional...

I like looking at the polls and seedings. They can be great when it comes to bragging rights and to show recruits, but I don't put much stock in them. Evidently Warren Buffett doesn't either because if I understand correctly he has offered a billion dollars to the person who before the tournament starts can correctly list every winner in March Madness .
