Top 5 "Group of Five" Recruting Classes
According to 247 Sports, the top Five (Group of Five) Classes are:

1. USF
2. UCF
3. Marshall
4. Boise State
5. Old Dominion

Good job by both CUSA and the AAC. 04-cheers Nobody even close from the Mac or Sunbelt.

Glad to see CUSA get two of those top 5 spots. Big kudos to ODU. They did much better than I thought they would in their first year. A few years down the road I can see ODU and Marshall being big rivals fighting it out in CUSA east.

After 1-4 things must be only marginally different. 5-10 look pretty much like our class.

In fairness, the high rating of our class is due in part to it's size. 31 recruits. That being said, our staff did a great job bringing them in and keeping them as well as addressing immediate needs. We're certainly recruiting at the level we need to be to be competitive in a few years.

RE: Top 5 "Group of Five" Recruting Classes
MT's ranking has changed 3 times in the last 12-18 hours according to 247.

We didn't add anyone to the list. Neither did the teams we jumped or the teams that jumped us. Go figure.

I give up on rankings. I'm going by offers/visits.

If a kid visits Ole Miss, USF, and UCF, but it a 2 star, I'd wager he's probably better than a kid who's offers are Delaware, SC State, Kennesaw - even if someone ranks him a 3 star.

Why are you hijacking my thread? If I wanted to post the top 15 I would have posted the top 15. I posted the "top five" in relation to the "group of five" conferences. Outside of the top five, nobody really cares.

Where did I do this? I posted the rankings YOU posted and actually put depth and context to it like a national rank.

If you start a thread with rankings you don't get to decide this, and another guy had already extended it firsts so why are you saying jack to me, yap at him. I'm sorry you apparently don't like what the rankings YOU posted say. 247 should have got the memo and cut it off at 64th since no one cares after that apparently.

I knew former WKU coach Willie Taggart would get it done in his area in Florida recruiting wise for USF, jury still remains if he can coach imo....

The point of this thread is to talk about those five schools and what they were able to accomplish. Nobody really cares past the top five non-bcs classes. GoodnightfL is a good poster on these boards and he doesn't try and stir things up like you have a reputation for doing. Besides his team was one of the top 5 classes. If you want to talk about the top 15 or whatever take it over to the American board. You guys no longer play football in this conference.

I wouldn't look at that as much of a drop. You always have some schools that have late signings that move some up the leader-board past others. From what I can tell, they were all "Power of five" schools that moved up that dropped us back some.

What do you think you have accomplished? I mean honestly I really don't care about football recruiting and stopped worrying about it after our JR and SR classes that won back to back titles and beat 4 ranked teams had zero 3 star player in it. I mean Carden, Hardy and Cooper didn't even have a D1 offer between them.

That said even the rankings YOU posted, your players did not have a better average rating than we had when I looked five minutes ago for what ever reason. Now you are a fraction better and they are still moving them around but here's what it says as a of 10:42.

84.22 USF
83.71 UCF
81.70 Boise St
80.87 Houston
80.26 Temple
80.21 SD St
79.86 Marshall
79.89 ECU
78.38 ODU

Quote:Nobody really cares past the top five non-bcs classes.

Check again, ODU just dropped behind us in the national rankings so do you want to adjust what they "accomplished"

I see your link is different than going to the website directly.

Here is what YOUR link says

ECU 79.44
Marshall 78.96

and we both signed 27 so how the heck does that equal us being ranked behind.

Not really a mess but two different ways to look at the rankings.

The rankings the OP used were based only on 247s ratings alone, you'll see that ODU has a 4* (Shuler Bentley). The rankings you link are the composite rankings. Either way, ODU, Marshall and ECU fans should be proud of their classes. Lot of talent coming to the three schools.

If you dont care about recruiting, then why are you here? I think you are here because you know ODU beat you guys on the recruiting trail this year. Better get used to it.

Ok I see now, but why anyone would post 247 rankings alone when they have a composite rankings I seriously don't get.
