Spencer Parker just threw Mike Talley to the ground. This should be a flagrant.

Why does everyone get dirty on us? Is our defense that frustrating?

Final. We get back to our winning ways, 69-57.

I wish we could play Bowling Green every game. We are a horrendous matchup for them.

Was it me or did they faster when Riley wasn't on the game?

Starting to wonder if GBIII has NBA draft potential.

Doesn't have range on his shot but a lot to like.

Hell NO! Not much of a market for shooting guards who can't shoot.

Shooting guard? He's 6'8 and built like a tank. He'd be a small forward at whatever level he plays at after this. He should go to Europe and learn how to hit jumpers. If he does, he could catch on somewhere in the league (big "if"). Its not like the guy CAN'T shoot...he's probably our best free throw shooter right now. Just gotta learn how to hit spot up shots and find a "sweet spot".

I'm guessing, like Sam, that when the NBA looks at him they'll see a LOT of raw talent and abundant athleticism. Might be the type of player hurt by our offense. Does he ever shoot behind a screen?

I don't follow the NBA much (the Wizards are over .500 today for the first time in a number of years, not much to see in D.C.) but maybe the NBA development league.

Matter of fact I'd love to see some one on one between him and Otto Porter Jr., the Wizards' high lottery pick (a SF).

For us recruiting fans he is what I'd a call a 'real sleeper'.... 'Diamond in the rough', etc.

Doubt he gets drafted but should get summer camp invite.

GBIII will not play in the NBA, he will have a hard time playing in Europe as well.

I want Realist's crystal ball. NBA is a stretch, but he has the size and athleticism for it. He won't get drafted or anything, but again, it's about how his offensive game develops wherever he plays after here. I think you underestimate how many professional leagues there are in Europe. He'll definitely play somewhere if that's what he wants to do. Hopefully he finds a good shooting coach.

I think a lot of players in Europe can't hold a candle to GB III.

Maybe I'll search for European rosters and see how many forgettable players are there.

this website is the best i've found to track ex-EMU players overseas.

edit:
Bowdry - Bulgaria averaging a double double
Medlock - Germany averaging 18pts and 5 assists and shooting almost 50% from 3
Dobbins - Uruguay
Bowler - last played in Germany in 2012
Jamell Harris - Chile averaging 9 & 7
Lampley - has bounced around the Balkan league this year
Boo Jackson - last played Canada in 2012
marcus Austin - last played in Canada in 2012

http://www.usbasket.com/Ex-College-Baske...racker.asp

it seems like their 'search by school' feature isn't working right now, but it normally works just fine.

i think GBIII will be able to play overseas if he wants, but i really doubt his ability to make it to an NBA camp this summer. i'll be shocked if he ever ends up on a D-League roster. i don't think he can guard a D-league prospect 1-on-1, and he has a lot of trouble scoring more than 5 feet from the rim.

Well to be fair, everyone in our offense has trouble scoring outside of 5 feet because our offensive system is atrocious. It would be nice to see Glenn in a competent system. I think he'd be much more productive. Same with KWard.

RE: GameDay: BG visits at the Convo
Guys, I really love Glenn on our team but I just do not see him doing too well oversees (NBA is out of question). First off, he is an open court, run and gun type of player and basketball isn't played like that oversees. Skill is extremely important in Europe and let's be honest Glenn is very raw offensively. Remember Carlos Medlock ? Remember Justin Dobbins ? Remember Brandon Bowdry ? These guys are having a hard time finding a team and you guys think Glenn will be an impact player in Europe ? Let me make a better comparison - Nick Freer . In my opinion just as athletic and arguably same or a little better skill level. He bounced around awful Australian and UK leagues and is now playing in Germany's third or fourth tier league.

The only way I can see Glenn doing better than the guys listed above is if Rob Murphy hooks him up with an awesome agent with great credentials that can give him a try out with a higher tier team in Europe if not Glenn will bounce around lower leagues and teams and Europe which in mine opinion are worst quality than D1 basketball.

With all this being said I HOPE he proves me wrong.

KWard is a way better prospect IMO

RE: GameDay: BG visits at the Convo
Oh I agree. The point is they both have high level athleticism and prototypical size. Two things that no one can coach. Dobbins, Bowdy, and Medlock aren't and weren't close to the athletes those two are. Although if I could somehow fuse Bowdry and Bryant together, I'd have a hell of a basketball player.

Also, one doesn't need to be an offensive stud (or even just "good") to make a living playing basketball. I am in no way comparing Glenn to Ben Wallace, but Big Ben's offensive skill made Glenn look like Kobe. If Glenn focused on defense/rebounding, he'll make money in some league in this world. I have no idea how good of a one-on-one defender he is, since we never play man-to-man and our zone rotates/switches like crazy. But he has the natural tools to be very good at it.
