I'm amazed they didn't find someone to play on November 1st to replace the game against Western Carolina.

Rice has an opening on Oct. 18th. UCF and Houston are also short one game currently, but Houston already plays one FCS team. Even one game against FBS would have been nice.

I understand the rationale behind playing fbs opposition but that is actually a pretty nice schedule for a second year program trying to build a fan base. They don't leave the Carolinas and have six home games without a conference schedule. I'm sure their athletic department is working to get them another game on the schedule, too.

Pretty tough schedule compared to last year's, off the top of my head. But 2015 will still be 50x's harder.

Most of 2015 is known: 1 OOC and 2 West opponents still up in the air

9/3 at Georgia State
9/12 Presbyterian (home)
10/3 Temple (home)

Marshall
Western Kentucky

Just a rumor but we've heard that last OOC game might be @Kentucky.

Hmm, Charlotte scheduling the worst teams in the AAC, SEC, SBC and the Big South is fantastic work I think. There should be no blow outs but it's gonna be a great yardstick for Charlotte and C-USA.

UTSA's second football year consisted of 2 FBS transitional teams [Southern Alabama and Georgia State) and 7 FBS teams (6 from the WAC).

The tough schedule served us well for Conference USA the following year. We came into CUSA in our third year of existence and posted a 7-5 record. 03-wink

I really like the 2015 schedule too (for our first year in FBS). Wouldn't have minded having one GA State type FBS team on the schedule in 2014, but we do have several tough FCS teams to play.

That will be a very tough feat to match. I certainly don't expect to do that, but I would be thrilled if we did.

RE: 2014 Charlotte Football Schedule
I'm sure the schedule would have been different, but remember our move up to FBS was accelerated when the entire athletic program re-joined CUSA. It's costly to buyout a schedule of games that were agreed upon home and home prior to that conference move.
