Kent State @ Central Michigan
The Golden Flashes start a big week on Wednesday evening in Mount Pleasant. Central Michigan is 0-8 in the MAC and has not beaten a division one opponent since December 7th of 2013. But...they have been showing signs of life recently. Last week they lost two road games (@OU and @WMU) by a combined 7 points. The week before they played both Akron and Miami tough.

The Chippewas' leading scorer is sophomore guard Chris Fowler (17.8 ppg) and their best all around guy seems to be 6'8 sophomore John Simmons who averages around 10 points and 6 boards per game. Overall, this CMU team can score, but they don't play much defense.

Wednesday night we will find out if the Flashes have put the old season behind them and are committed to the new one. Bring your defense with you on the road boys!

RE: Kent State @ Central Michigan
Huge week for the Flashes Fallsdog! They have a very dangerous CMU team up first and then followed by EMU on the road as well. They will really have to be patient at Eastern. Then we get BGSU and CMU on a return trip next week, a very quick turnaround with the Chipps.

Watched the OU game and CMU was very competitive. I think they surprised a lot of people. Hey, but we have a few surprises left as well because we had great efforts vs. UT and UA.....let's keep the momentum going and get the same defensive effort we did last Saturday.

GO FLASHES!

RE: Kent State @ Central Michigan
This back to back with Central and Eastern Michigan is interesting for a variety of reasons. I am trying to avoid looking at other team's records because obviously Kent State remains in a position where none of that matters.

So keeping the focus on winning one game at a time I am interested to see what could be a tale of two Goodsons. I have a feeling he could have a big scoring night against Central Michigan. The Chips have some length, but no real intimidating size. Darren's ability to get into the lane or muscle down defenders could make some big money on Wednesday.

Saturday could be a different story for Goodson. The EMU zone along with their rim protectors could force him back into the role of distributor.

And you are right joepa, this is a huge week. Too bad neither game is on TV. I will, however, happily welcome Ty and Dave into my living room.

One of the hardest things in sports is to play well just AFTER a rivalry game. I am afraid of us being flat from an emotional standpoint. Where do we find the spark?

Chris Fowler has scored at least 19 points in each of their last 4 games, but has not faced a defender as good as Derek Jackson. If Jackson can shut him down we should be able to win the game.

Let's just hope someone can pry them away from the tables at Soaring Eagle in time for tip off!

There is actually a 6:30 p.m. poker tournament tonight at Soaring Eagle, so Ty will be calling the game alone...

Kidding of course :)

It sounds like Thomas is running the point more. The less Kris Brewer running the offense the better. This has been our problem for the last month.

Fail. Simons has made 4 bombs in the first 6 min of the second half. CMU on a 9-0 run to take a 2 point lead.

15 turnovers with 11 minutes left in the game. Whatever happened to valuing the ball? Value the ball like each possession is your last! DAMN. Hell, we can't even take bad shots if we get turn the ball over!

well this is not a fallsdog original. keeping these guys from hitting outside and banging the ball into the paint were two keys suggested to me from a KSU friend. obviously in the second half those two keys are, well.....failing.
