Decent recruit falls into June's lap
RB Daniel Gresham, formerly committed to Texas and then Louisville, committed to SMU today after Petrino pulled his offer. He had some AQ schools calling him while he visited SMU (more info on that is behind a pay wall on a certain recruiting site), but decided to commit to the Mustangs.

June's going to use this as proof that he is a great recruiter.

Imagine what he could accomplish if he utilized his "talents" from within the continental US

This is how he fell into Junes' lap:

(from a Rivals article)

Colorado State has talked about making an in-home visit, as has UTSA. Texas, Ole Miss, and Miami have also kept in touch, but do not have room at this time.

His options now are Colorado State, SMU, and UTSA, and is not naming any leaders going into his final official-visit weekend.

There were more than those schools. Check the story on his commitment on Rivals

Yes, calls are one thing, offers are another.

I see Callen's response, although what you posted is what I have seen as well. Petrino felt he would not be a match for his style of offense as Gresham was viewed more as a fullback than feature back. UofL fans were surprised at his lack of decent offers once we told him it wouldn't work. Schools seem to have soured on him recently for whatever reason and from what I have seemed it came down to UTSA & SMU, although he was attracting attention at a much higher level early in the game.

You never know with recruiting. He certainly has size and with the initial attention he was getting he could end as a good pick-up. Seems like a good kid, wish him success at SMU.

A lot of schools had filled up at the RB position already.

Attracting interest from Miami and KSU as late as this weekend.

Apparently committed because of the great atmosphere at the basketball game.
