Grow up dude. Coaches who make wrong decisions are called out on them every single game. Josh made some and it cost us the game. This is not the only game he has done the very same thing. and it wont be his last. Good coaches keep learning until the end. Josh will too.

HAHAHAHA!

IF you are trying to make me laugh, I was just ROTFLMAO.

We are 27th in the nation in scoring
We are 25th in the nation in FG%
We are 5th in the nation in APG
We are 10th in the nation in total assists
And we lead the NATION in points in the paint as of a few weeks ago.

Saying the problem is our offense is just as clueless as it gets.

I can't believe you had the gall to cherry pick those two stats and pretend they proved us to be a poor offensive team.
What a joke
.

Agreed...

Our defense is the issue. We don't make people miss shots we hope they miss open looks...We switch waaay too much and Josh bails them out by going zone because they "CAN'T" guard man to man...If you feel they are capable you have to make them do it...You have to fight through screens and quit switching and being lazy.

Maybe this is the year we have to learn how to play a tough conference schedule. Before this, there were only a couple of games we even had to worry about in cusa. Now we have to have no lapses in almost every game. I don't think we have trained the habit of bringing it every night because even if the coaches preached it, the players knew better. They now have a bad habit ingrained (especially the seniors, You know somewhere in their brain they said "It's only SMU" even though this is not what was we would have considered a "normal" SMU team in years past).

^^^
I agree that the above is a factor. These guys have never had to bring it every minute of every game and I think it is not something that you can suddenly start doing. I expect the team underestimated SMU, as well, and probably didnt think they were capable of what they did in the 2nd half. My worry-meter went up a notch when SMU lost to USF. They would be more focused and we would be more likely to not be.

Coming into Saturday’s game, SMU had out-scored 20 of its 21 opponents in the paint. So when the Mustangs crushed the Tigers inside 52-32, it wasn’t out of the ordinary.

Inside out attack. What a novel concept.

I'm surprised a hall of fame coach would utilize this tactic. Coach P doesn't... evidently Brown doesn't know what he's doing......

You do realize that their guards scored the majority of the points...A drive and layup is considered points in the paint also

We didn't get beat inside we got beat on the perimeter on defense.

Inside is inside.

If the coach preaches scoring close to the basket then that is what will happen.

If the coach prefers shots from outside, then thats what will happen.

Btw, you do realize CC probably still hasnt taken 20 freethrows this yr? Generally don't get freethrows when you dont drive the ball.

Btw I saw enough layups and alley oops by SMU's bigs to last me til the ncaa tourney.

Offensively, we are pretty darn strong.

I actually couldn't agree more.

In the meantime, our "coach's" entire explanation is "we didn't make shots". The guy is absolutely clueless.

UCONN shot 60% in the second and half and went like 5-5 down the stretch and SMU shot 70% in the second half. Our offense struggles at times, but in large part is fine. Our defense without question is the major problem.

I still see our guards going over the top of screens 5 feet behind the three point line, I see us overplaying almost every pass, I see us rolling out the red carpet to the rim for opposing guards, and I see big guys who refuse to put a body on someone and actually block out. It is really tough to be consistent when you lack the basic fundamentals.

The tigers statistically are also one of the best in the nation in points in the paint.

That's why we have such a high FG% even with the bad 3pt%.

So the huge gap there was a surprise.

Shaq and Austin are both probably about 50% from shots attempted just inside the free throw line. But that isn't an outside shot.
