MyBB Why did Geron shoot SEVEN 3-pointers?
Geron was 1-7 from 3-point range today. Any reason in particular why he took so many? (I missed the game)

He's shooting 23.6% this year from the arc. Is there any point where Coach P will put a leash on the 3's?

I understand what you're saying, but outside of Big Dom he is one of the few that gave any effort today.

I think 3 of those shots came towards the last few mins trying to mount any sort of a comeback.

Neither team shot well from 3 in the first half. That smu kid lit it up in the second.

Geron, to me personally while watching from the stands, seemed to have the most fire of anyone outside of joe.

Dude needs a three shot if he has a tiny chance at n.b.a.

That ship has sailed. Terrible mechanics on his shot lead to poor percentage, and that's not changing at this point. He does other things well, no reason for him to try to be something he's not.

He was wide open for a reason

As long as we are playing 3/4 guards it is going to make it easy for teams to pack in the middle and force us into outside shots. That is why you always hear about shots not falling. We are painting ourself into a corner and making that our only option when the guards are taking all the shots. In all of our bad losses the bigs took about 10 shots or less between the two of them while the three starting guards took close to 30 shots. As many times as the inside out approach has proven successful I can't understand why this gets done over and over again. I am sorry, but that is on the coach plain and simple.

I don't know how this keeps coming up-JJ played his butt off, didn't quit like Geron. Dom was just out there.

Geron is not the same player he was last year. I don't know what is wrong but he is not the same player. Maybe it's because put on extra weight I don't know but he has been very disappointing this season

Dom was great yesterday. Joe was not. When SMU came out swinging in the second half joe tried to play hero ball instead of being the senior leader and slowing it down and getting everyone to just relax.

Besides missing a couple of contested layups, I don't recall JJ doing a whole lot of bad things-did miss a few more free throws than usual but he hustled his butt off whole game-which not one other player can say. Joe got 8 rebounds. I don't think fans appreciate how he sacrifices his body this year to make plays. Geron was the guy playing hero ball-not Joe.

Dom got 11 rebounds because he did not leave the lane on D to guard his man-6 of 11 were offensive rebounds; clearly not in game shape. Great potential if he could get in shape like Martin kid from SMU.

Well you obviously didn't pay close attention during the first 10 minutes of the second half

new defensive rules

A real killer for great defenders like Geron and Dixon, and for players like Crawford who get a lot of steals by reaching around after they get beaten off of the dribble.

Geron seemed to have at least one "one on one pocket pick" steal every game that would lead to break away dunk for him. I am not sure he has one of those the entire season. He has done a good job of playing passing lanes, especially cross court passes, but I cannot recall one instance of him "picking a pocket" this season.
