Josh will move on before that contract is up. Pearl is licking his chops.

...and it would be such a shame if Memphis spends MILLION$ for on-the-job training just to have your investment bolt when/if the tides finally turn.

Pearl will get a good position with another school in a year or so and will not be available.

RE: Get Over It
My biggest fear about Josh leaving, either on his own or by the school, is that he really is the coaching prodigy that we keep hearing about. Maybe he turns into the next Dean Smith or Larry Brown or the fella at Duke, I really don't feel like googling how to spell his name. When he is 40, will he be the biggest star in basketball and be at another school while we kick ourselves because he is not ours? I know we deserve better results. We have all the tools. Facilities, talent, community and administrative support, money. Is Josh our weak link? I can't say for certain and am glad it isn't my decision but we should be a top 10 school and we are winning just enough to stay relevant but not a powerhouse like we should be. I used to dread the off season because I was afraid Josh would leave but now I think it might be a good thing for everyone concerned if that happened.

I somewhat agree with this, but he's so stubborn I not sure he will ever get it. He was shown a clinic in the second half today about playing hard and executing. One of his main players checked out and he didn't nothing about it.

That is exactly how I feel. When he was first hired I read everything I could get my hands on about Josh and the more I read, the more excited I was about the hire. I think he can still be that coach as he gets a little older and learns to be more flexible. The man obviously hates to fail at anything, so I am hoping he will do whatever it takes to get it right.

RE: Get Over It
If it doesn't work out here, pastner will be snatched up as an assistant at a top school. He will continue to prove he is one of the top recruiters in the game, while also learning how to become a better coach outside of the spotlight and crucible in which he currently sits.

He will be much better his second go round, if that's the path that ends up occurring.
