Tulsa had a down year in 2013, but they've been much better than Memphis over the last decade.
Private school as well...better bang for the scholarship buck.
I don't like the decision, but I can understand it.

He was the #1-2 prospect in Arkansas and has since moved down to 3-4. The same happened with a couple of other highly touted recruits we got out of arkansas along with him.
Doesn't necessarily mean he was dropped because of where he committed. The sites do their final state rankings around this time. Temple had our top DL recruit bumped up to 3* and two JUCO safeties bumped up to 3* after final evaluations.

History is always a good indicator of what level a program will be over the long term and the Golden Hurricane's history says that you'll be fighting for conference championships again soon.

Old Tiger, you are classy, as usual. I think Tulsa will either bounce back in 2014 or we may have a new coach in 2015. I like Coach Blankenship, so I really hope we bounce back in 2014 !
Sounds like native-Tulsan Justin Fuente is doing a good job building the Memphis football program. I wish him good luck in bringing Memphis football back to prominence.
BTW, it has been painful & awkward 2013-14 football & basketball seasons for Tulsa, so far. We had a horrible football season & a very slow start to our basketball season. Also, as a Tulsa fan, it is hard to get into playing all these new teams, especially when you know this is our first & last season to play many of them.
I'm really looking forward to next season. I sure hope Tulsa football is representative again in 2014. I feel confident that Tulsa basketball has improved as this season has progressed & will be a pretty good team in 2015. With 6 of our 7 leading scorers & our top 5 rebounders being sophomores, 2015 & 2016 should be interesting.
