Iowa State's DeAndre Kane making the most of his second chance

This article says a lot about Kane's maturity but also about Herrion's inability to discipline a player, which also explains a lot about the Justin Coleman and Elijah Pittman fiascoes.

Let's get right into the crazy:

I remember incidents with Herrion teams. I recall one where I think he left the team alone to figure things out between themselves I believe, and a 7 footer reportedly choked out a 6-3 guy. Speaking of Bill is this the year he finally gets canned. I know there was low expectations at the time at both places but this guy hasn't had a winning season in 15 years and still has a job. That's amazing if he survives 5-17 this year.

Tom Herrion has an interesting resume as well. Takes over programs in good shape and basically seems to slip each year. Steady decline.

If you remember, I told you what Kane did after the massacre at Southern Miss last year. His language and actions in tbe visitors tunnel after the game was enough to make a sailor blush.

He has taken over two good programs and ruined them both. Time for a change.

Kane should have been disciplined a long time ago. The player stating because he was the leading scorer he was above reproach with coach is why we are where are. He should have been suspended a while back of all that is true. But this is Herrion's style I guess let's jet look at since he's been here.

Orlando Allen got in a fist fight in the tunnel on senior night with opposing players after the game.

Justin Coleman had incident after incident.

Kane's behavior that could have been corrected.

Dago Pena's yelling match with Herrion at MTSU during the NIT to the point veins were popping out of his head and neck and had to be restrained.

Elijah Pittman's numerous incidents with coaches and players.

DD Scarver's incidents with teammates.

Those are off of the top of my head. Herrion is a joke. If all that is true about Kane then it was best be move on. However it never should have come to this. It should have been a long time ago. When you foster thiat kind of environment this is what you are going to get from it. This crap doesn't happen with Doc. Incidents are dealt with the first time. Not allowing it to escalate beyond repair 2-3 years later.

I mean take these examples. Johnny Thomas had another year to play but left the team only ti return to finish his grad degree. Also Kelvin Amayo left after 3 game following his prop year was finished because he said this team was selfish, the environment was hard to play in, and he was lied to about going on scholarship.

It is apparent Kane could no longer stay here and we needed to part ways but it is clearly as evident that Herrion needs to be sent on his way as well. I'm wondering if something didn't happen with Canty for him not to be starting for a few games last week.
