It takes time but the league gets better as a whole.

Just to counterpoint your argument, playing non-DI teams can also lead to this:

MWC 2012-2013

8 of 9 MWC teams played at least one non-DI game last season with most playing multiple games. New Mexico is the only team that played just D-I teams.
Please don't mess up his spin with facts!

I suppose I should assume from this that four in the top 100 in basketball is good. Football and basketball rankings must be completely different beasts.

we all schedule 300 RPI teams and go 9-1 in non conference

ask the Pirates how that's working out right now.....

IMO, one problem CUSA has is geographically scheduling equally with a small budget. We can't just twist the arm of other schools and say, "hey, come play us...we have nothing to offer in return."

Success from the top half of CUSA moving forward is the only thing I see being able to provide scheduling leverage. That takes time to develop. Other than losing Memphis, we now have better tools to work with (sorry current exodus members)

Spin? It isn't my fault USM can't win big OOC games and you cry like a 12 year old girl about it. Also, look at the OOC schedules for those MWC teams they will play anybody anywhere. You're like the SJ for USM but even SJ knows non-D1 have no purpose at this level.

Finally! No 300+ RPI teams in conference. Rice sits at 298.

I am pretty sure that next year UTEP will have Arizona, Washinton St. and NMSU at home. On the road we will have CSU and NMSU. I know Floyd is trying to get UTEP invited to the Maui Invitational also. I also would not be surprised to see UTEP play at Texas Tech next year. UTEP had two non D1 schools on the schedule this year and one of them was there as part of playing in the Battle for Atlantis. It is hard to get teams to come to El Paso because UTEP has a lifetime winning percentage of 78% in the Haskins Center. The reason UTEP can get schools to come to El Paso is because of the relationship Floyd has with other coaches.
