I posted it on Twitter to a Cincy fan, I'm bummed the AAC isn't what we thought it would be, but having Cincy with UCF soothes it just a little bit. Except when someone mentions Tulsa is with us, then i can't say even Cincy winning the NC for AAC would make me feel better at all.

Football wise nobody in Pittsburgh cares about the AAC. We love the fact we got to host Fsu In fb and Duke in bb both record crowds. I hope you do enjoy your conference because you're going to be there a long time (forever).03-lmfao

Great - you get to host and lose to FSU in fball and host and lose to Duke. Your fball team did the same as in the old BE, middle of the pack and subpar bowl. At least you guys won the bowl this year, instead of flaming out. So, at least you have that going for you...

Dude can't really talk when with that same ACC slate he touts, their attendance is subpar compared to the other programs. I guess that happens when you have Penn State taking all the kids you wish would go to your school lol

Pitt is like the Miami of the north. Once was a power. Has $$$. Can throw together a basketball team. Announced attendance 53-55K, but the actual # of fans in stands? Maybe 20 for most games. 30-40 for big games like FSU.

Once was a power? No coach wants to stay there more than a year except for when Wannstedt was there.

At least people want to go to Miami...even though it is to rot in subpar P5 facilities

RE: Fellow Bearcat fans
I'm not sure why people are down on Pittsburgh fans, if anything, it was WVU fans that were usually nasty in my experience.
As for being envious, if Pittsburgh ends up just being BC/Virginia pt. II, I can't imagine anyone being envious regardless of what bowls their conference has. Personally, I think bragging on one's conference is a bit like "My dad can beat up your dad!"
I don't imagine too many people are upset that we don't play Pittsburgh, on the other hand, I'm sure we'd like the added cash for the football program.

My thing is though, these TV deals cannot and will not last. Media through online sources is going to be exploited to the point there is no profit to be made. Not to mention, since the gap between those who have and haven't will grow to the point that there's no real way for the majority of teams to compete, people will tune out. Everyone doesn't go to the same certain few universities and honestly, if the highlight of your university's existence in a particular conference, is that you get to host a certain school full of borderline retarded, roided up, poor kids, you can go ahead and have it.

Just sayin...

Don't count on it. AAC will own a slot in the Access Bowl something Pitt will never see. In case you did not notice, the conference won a BCS bowl this year. In case you forgot, Pitt made it to one BCS Bowl, laid a turd on attendance, and crapped the bed with a blow out loss to Utah.

I think Cincy is having a great season and they would be having a great season in any conference.

Yeah . While the old big east was the greatest basketball conference on earth . As UC went 9-9 , 10-8, and 11-7 in league play it was considered a great year because you got beat up every night. We'd be ranked #19 or #20 ish I the country and still only be the 6th best in the league . All the attention and positive pub went to the Syracuse, Villanova, UConn , Georgetown and Louisvilles ahead of you .

Even this year, if the old band was back together, with the year UC is having , they would be third fiddle to Syracuse and Villanova.

Call me crazy and it helps winning but Ive had more fun watching AAC basketball than I did any year in the Big East

I should have brought this up sooner after the Temple UC game, but I am really looking forward to a basketball rivalry forming between these 2 schools. In most “normal” years Temple is a defense first team that grinds it out and plays physical on both ends on the floor, I can see where UC’s style can make for some heated close games.

So far this season, with the exception of the Owls performance, the AAC has met all my basketball expectations and I am really enjoying year 1. 04-cheers

WVU fans were the most obnoxious and potentially hazardous to your physical health...
sPitt fans were the most arrogant and conceited fans.

I think it's rather...funny? ironic? amazing?... that sPitt fans even come onto these (AAC) boards. To listen to them, you'd think (well, I obviously think at least) that the teams that make up the AAC aren't even worthy of being talked about. So why any of their fans feel compelled to come over here, I am not really sure.

The half-assed route that Zim took in getting rid of Huggins is what stifled UC basketball, not being in the BE. If she was going to can him, just do it right after the DUI. Don't pussyfoot around for an extra two years, and kill recruiting.

We were freaking 14-4 in 2011-12, good for fourth place in the best league in the nation. Sweet 16 for the first time since 2001.

Being in the Big East established NYC as a solid recruiting ground for Mick Cronin.

The Big East was the best thing that ever happened to UC football. Yet again, you have no clue.

Yeah buddy, it was the way that Nancy fired Huggs not that Huggs was actually fired. Whatever. Btw, Huggs was 50-15 in his last 2 years. I thought that we were talking about basketball. You have no clue.

I was talking about BOTH (unless your reading comprehension is that bad). And, Mick is 96-33 in the past 3-1/2 seasons - against a tougher conference than C-USA.

I appreciate the job Huggs did, but I'll take Mick now, thank you.

If you want to talk Huggs, perhaps you ought to visit a West Virginia board?

This was the point that I was trying to make. In the BE, UC would still be behind other programs in the standings & media attention. Today, UC is the cream of the crop of the AAC. Nobody in this thread is making that argument about football, pretty sure that everyone is in agreement there. UC bb is in a much better position to succeed and gain all of the spoils of success being in the AAC.
