Despite how bad the defense looked - and it was bad at times - Akron scored just their season average. The shooting really killed us ... again. 3-26 from 3. It seemed like when we took our time and moved the ball we often got good looks inside ... didn't make all of them, but that was a better option than to keep launching 3s when absolutely no one could hit them.

Only minor bright spot I saw was that there were glimpses of the player Monakana can become. She is extremely quick to the basket, beats most everyone off the dribble. Needs to learn to finish though, and avoid the charge, but if she can do that she could be a big time scorer for this team down the road. Hits the boards with intensity too.

Ryan Autullo mtweeted that this is the most upset he has ever seen Coach Cullop. She said in her post game that you may se a new starting line up. Some have become to comfortable in their roles.

Not much post-game banter about this one.

The Rockets started out just like the Ohio game----cold shooting, poor defense and too many turnovers; however, unlike Ohio, Akron's offense makes any big comeback pretty difficult. Interestingly, after about the 10 minute mark of the first half when the score was 27-7 the Rockets matched Akron's scoring for the rest of the game, although admittedly Akron also lost a bit of their intensity after they built up their lead. The thing that most stuck me was that UT gave up 48 points in just the first half! That is more points that the team gave up for the entire game in well over half of their games last season.

As noted, Coach Cullop was not a happy camper after the game and I suspect that she will have a fire lit under them for the BG game on Sunday-----I hope that will be enough to get back on track---but it will be difficult because IMO BG is significantly better than Akron. It has been a long time since the Lady Rockets dropped back-to-back conference games in Savage, so hopeful they can pull the upset Sunday. Coach Cullop did say that those fans who show up Sunday will see a more committed and focused team and perhaps some new faces in the starting line-up. I look for it to be a good game.

rocket vision of the game was so disgusted that it froze up at half time,so i didn't have to suffer by watching the second half.it occasionally freezes up during a game and they don't seem to know how to correct it.for this game it didn't matter.
