Dude, save your garbage. This forum is here so we can talk about recruiting. It's not like Pastner hasn't recruited any headscratchers or players that didn't pan out, so questioning a guy here or there isn't crazy. If you don't like the conversation, move on without commenting.

Allen is a shot blocker. We need a shotblocker. We want opponents to think twice before venturing in the lane

Explain to me why we need a one dimensional shotblocker rather than giving minutes to Dom, or Austin, or Shaq or Hawkins who all sound like much more well-rounded post players?

How much time is he realistically going to spend on the court? He's not even a top 50 JuCo player.

We only have one legit center on this roster and no consistent shot blocker, the guy had 167 blocks this year in a tough Texas juco league!!!

LOL. We've got 3 guys that can play the 5, one of whom has been playing the 5 almost exclusively for 1.5 seasons now.

We had 4 legit posts this last season but routinely played Nick King out of position at the 4 and left Pellom or Dom on the bench. Do we need to have one more post player riding the pine next year for no reason?

Dom didn't play much last year, but there were minutes where we very much needed him. And that's with no major injuries. If Dom moves up to the Pellom minutes, it would be nice to have a legit defensive presence available for the Dom minutes.

Where does that leave Hawkins?

Competing for backup 3/4 minutes with Burrell, Wilson, and Iverson just like he'd be doing without Allen.

I wouldn't say I'm worried. But we only get so many scholarships, and there are a few can't miss prospects on the horizon in the coming years. Why sign a player we don't need?

So we don't need a guy who can protect the rim? Good to know.. We need a room protector in the worst way.

Having a rim protector allows you to do a lot more on defense knowing there is a guy back there who can swat shots.

I trust the coaches on this.

We need all kinds of things for next years team, but we only have 13 scholarships available. Seems like we have a fine front court rotation for next season, I don't see the need to add another middling JuCo to it. This guy isn't even on top 50 JuCo lists.

If you can't see how badly we need a guy who can protect the rim then maybe you don't know much about this teams needs.

Teams could get to the rim against us it was pretty much a free two points. You have Allen in the middle it won't be as easy. He went just block shots he will alter shots. I could care less if he produces on the offensive end as long as he blocks shots, alters shots, and rebounds.

You bring up our front court depth like some of these guys are going to lose minutes. Austin and Shaq are getting must of the minutes stop worrying.

After this two is the others do what they are supposed to they will play if not they won't it's that simple. Josh doesn't guarantee anyone playing time. You come in do what you ate supposed to them minutes will come

With this guy and big Dom as backups along with Hawkins, you won't have to play King and Iverson at the four anymore.

Allen will get the David Pellom minutes and any additional minutes that come up with foul trouble/poor play. Right now we only have 3 big men all of which are more offensive minded. We need Allen as a defensive player.

Saw that, but he's top 10 or around it in just about every ranking.
