Seriously dude?

It makes as much sense as just jamming a 5th post player into the roster.

We only have one legit center on this roster and no consistent shot blocker, the guy had 167 blocks this year in a tough Texas juco league!!!

LOL. We've got 3 guys that can play the 5, one of whom has been playing the 5 almost exclusively for 1.5 seasons now.

We had 4 legit posts this last season but routinely played Nick King out of position at the 4 and left Pellom or Dom on the bench. Do we need to have one more post player riding the pine next year for no reason?

we'd go from one extreme to the other....from guard heavy to post heavy...

Dom didn't play much last year, but there were minutes where we very much needed him. And that's with no major injuries. If Dom moves up to the Pellom minutes, it would be nice to have a legit defensive presence available for the Dom minutes.

Pellom was hurt most of the season with nagging injuries and could go on limited basis. Nick play the 4 mostly because his footwork was bad in defending the wing (3)

While I agree as to why King played the 4, we still didn't really run 4 deep on our bigs last year, why do we need 5 this year?

Shaq, IMO, is not a center. We really only have one center on the team. Not sure how good Allen is, but sounds like he can block some shots. We need that.

In the college sense, he is. Additionally, not many teams run with true centers these days. We haven't in years and years.

I wouldn't say I'm worried. But we only get so many scholarships, and there are a few can't miss prospects on the horizon in the coming years. Why sign a player we don't need?

Because we haven't had a center in years. I guess Coleman was the last.

Apparently the coaching staff thinks we need him. He is the number one priority at this point. But I get what you are saying...

The staff have been recruiting those can't miss prospects, so they have more knowledge of the current team and a better understanding on what may happen to get those players. This things have a way of working out

The Tigers can NEVER be too "Post Heavy". There's just no way to tell if Dom is going to lose weight, or Austin gain weight and strength. Shaq played well 3/4 of the season then seem to hit a wall and interior defense went to crap. Just too many unknowns about frontcourt next year. If a 7ft. shot blocker is available it would be nuts to let him get away. Josh can find a way to make room for a guard, hopefully a grad. Plus it could be a "NBA potential" draftee which always bodes well for Tiger basketball.

So we don't need a guy who can protect the rim? Good to know.. We need a room protector in the worst way.

Having a rim protector allows you to do a lot more on defense knowing there is a guy back there who can swat shots.

I trust the coaches on this.

We need all kinds of things for next years team, but we only have 13 scholarships available. Seems like we have a fine front court rotation for next season, I don't see the need to add another middling JuCo to it. This guy isn't even on top 50 JuCo lists.

Yawn. Please inform us why Pastner hasn't given you a job on his staff as lead recruiter.

Dude, save your garbage. This forum is here so we can talk about recruiting. It's not like Pastner hasn't recruited any headscratchers or players that didn't pan out, so questioning a guy here or there isn't crazy. If you don't like the conversation, move on without commenting.

Allen is a shot blocker. We need a shotblocker. We want opponents to think twice before venturing in the lane
