I said old, the newer ones look blue and I just think the one on the right looks a little cooler.

I will be honest here, it really doesn't make that much of a difference... the lack of "grit" in the new logo is a stepdown, but not debilitating. Plus the "ECU" on the hat is much need implementation for brand exposure/associattion

Ppl need chill eff out...

RE: Which ECU logos are better?
the right obviously looks better ..but the font on the left is better than the right

it honestly looks like they kidy-fied the logo (maybe thats the purpose to make the brand more family friendly) better for licensing merchandise and more inviting as ecu trys to grow its national brand/fanbase

First Row: Crossed bones placement much better on the new ones. The ECU on the hat is a nice touch. The actual face is far better on the old one, though.

Second Row: Definitely the old one since the improvements from the first row are unseen in this one. The old-style face has a lot more swagger to it.

Third Row: Could go either way. The new one is a little classier, but at the same time, duller.

The ecu fans are blowing up about this. Reason we're asking for an outside view.

The O looks like a D in the one on the right.

I like top and bottom of left, and middle of right.

RE: Which ECU logos are better?
The old logos look better overall but the crossbones being closer to the skull in the new logo looks nicer. The new 'EAST CAROLINA' script looks awful compared to the old.

Really? This has gotten ridiculous. There's not much of a difference if you ask me...

God help us if we ever dominate in any sport; we'll make Bama fans look like amateurs.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the "NASCAR" old script. I like the new script much better. The "new" Jolly Rodger is not different enough from the old one to really notice to most folks.

as an outsider it looks like one of those puzzle pics on the kid's menu at a Cracker Barrel where you have to find the differences between two pics that look identical.

the biggest improvement I see with the new one is the combination of the skull and crossbones into one image. The old logo has them looking like separate graphics on an unfinished worksheet. Probably wasn't obvious until you put it beside the new logo. So I would say based on that its an upgrade. Plus, if you're going to push "ECU" as the brand name it makes since to have it included as well.

Both good, but I like one that has a school identifier (ECU). However I notice a very slight difference in the skulls mouth... The old one seems to be grinning, the new one is more of a 'grrrrrr' expression. I think it makes the old one look a bit more sadistic, which I like. If a skeleton is smiling, he's up to no good!!!

Your thoughts are almost exactly mine on the new vs old logos. I hate to see the Pirate State of Mind logo changed at all but I understand you can't change the Jolly Roger logo without tweaking the PSOM logo.
I like the crispness of the East Carolina even though it is plan. The old East Carolina logo just looked too busy to me.

RE: Which ECU logos are better?
Crossbones placement with new logo is better. Never liked the crossbones separate from the skull.

Face and placement within the state looks better on the old one.

The new "East Carolina" looks more professional, educational in nature while the old "East Carolina" on the right looks more athletic.

Like I said in another thread, when you watch the undaunted video and watch the new logo waving in the flag, it looks pretty cool.

I didn't vote for either as both have ups and downs.

Bottom line, new day / new conference / new look.

RE: Which ECU logos are better?
To me the new logo looks like a more kid friendly look. It is not intimidating, but more cartoonish. The new one has ECU on the hat. In my opinion, people should already know that the skull and crossbones stand for ECU, so we don't need to label it.

The only thing I like is the new text logo for East Carolina. There are some things that they can tweek on the old logo to make it a little better. The old is better than the new.
