51/69 is 73% of our points
They took 29/45 of our FG attempts (64%) and 17/24 (71%) of our FT attempts.
19/31 rebounds is 61% of our rebounds. I didn't get to see the game, but I'm assuming we were 3 guard the whole game plus a little 4 guard here and there.
That means they also played >60% of total game minutes, probably around 65%. I'm not sure it's that impressive when their production essentially mirrors their playing time. You play just the 4 of them 100% of the time without a 5th and they'll have all the points and rebounds.
You expect our bigs to do a little better job rebounding than that, of course, but let's not make this out to be some incredible stat

From what I saw, UCF can flat o-rebound. And we had a lot of ole defense. Sykes would have looked good in a Tiger Uniform.

this is just cold hard math. We always play 3 guard, so if 3/5 positions are always guards, at least 60% of the playing time goes to the guards. I checked the gametracker on ESPN and we seemed to have the 4 guards and Shaq in at the end of the game, so logically we played some 4 guard during the game. 5% of the game time is just a guess.
I don't need to have watched the game to do the math. Now that the minutes are up on ESPN, our 4 guards played 116 minutes. 116/200= 58%. So a little less than I estimated, making those rebounding stats a little more impressive.

The guards were really good tonight.
The bigs overall were not- although Shaq came through with some big defensive plays late.
All the stat spin to try and change that is just silly.
In order for us to win huge- we will need stronger tougher play from inside- especially Nichols...he is capable- just in a seeming freshman funk. Skills are too good.
The team won. And really- does not matter how.

Really good shot selection from 3.
With UCF doubling the post they did the right thing, send it in and kick it out.
Even with the guards scoring more, even with some struggles converting inside, we did well when we were patient and got paint touches and reversals.
Joe also made nice use of pull up jumpers

Cfu actually had a solid game plan which they executed pretty well. We hit more 3's than usual, and it was enough.

Yeah, these guards suck. And they hog the majority of the playing time. I need to talk to my doctor about this coach's distribution of game minutes.
It is a bonafide miracle the TIGERS managed to upset UCF.
The blind hog has found 16 acorns thus far this season, including a few in Orlando on an earlier trip and up in Louisville.
16-4; on to SMU.

Downgrade all of the minutes and stats to try and advance your pathetic agenda (example; they played 58% of the minutes; not 65%). They were 15-29 from the field; 7-12 from the 3 point line; and grabbled 18 of our 31 rebounds.
You're right; nothing to see here...troll away.

Impossible for some of our "fans" to just say great game from the guards and leave it at that. Last night had to be a heartbreaker for them. We were only up 2 points with 7 minutes left, so our "fans" still had hope that Pastner would blow it.

No 4 guard, that I can remember. Shaq was saddled with 2 early fouls, Austin Nichols didn't really show up. Pastner tried to play Nick King early and he had two huge defensive breakdowns that led to 2 back-to-back consecutive baskets for UCF.
The bigs did not have a good game on the offensive end, and only Shaq really had a good one on the defensive end. Not a good showing for our freshmen either.
It's nice to have that emergency release valve in 4 senior guards, so you can win games like this even when the team plays like garbage for most of the game.
EDIT: Woodson looked decent. An ill-advised shot but he boxed out on the defensive end.
