RACHEL MADDOW: Did you vote to cut diplomatic security facilities and their security before the Benghazi incident?

REP. TIM HUELSKAMP (R-KANSAS):
No, we had passed additional security measures, as requested by the administration, but don’t forget, the facts of the matter is Hillary Clinton did not request security enhancements, and we do believe that this administration let our troops down and let this diplomat down.

We need more answers there, we need answers about a lot of things. This administration promised to be the most transparent in history, Rachel, and I think if you would stop being a cheerleader and be a journalist, you’d recognize we’re not getting those answers.

MADDOW: Did you just call me a cheerleader?

HUELSKAMP: I don’t know, maybe you had that history. I’m saying –

MADDOW: No, wait, wait. Hold on. Hold on.

HUELSKAMP:
You’re a cheerleader for the administration; you’re not being a journalist. When you’re not willing to look at the facts. If it was Bush, you would be jumping and screaming.

Video here

Wow.. Major props to Huelskamp for doing that! Nice to see a couple of Reps and Senators FINALLY calling out some of the media for being what they have been...

The is predictably sliming any potential GOP candidate in order to poison his reputation before 2016 comes around. Besides, progs can't really defend what Obama said last night - what are they gonna say, that they're proud Obama turned the presidency into a dictatorship? But two things:

1. Being attacked by Tingles is actually an endorsement
2. Why the hell are you watching that retard?

Hockey game started at 7:35 and I wanted to see if he was still doing Christie stories. Once there, it was like watching an accident. I couldn't stop watching....and laughing. It's comic relief.

That's not true. Up until Obama, Matthews was opionated but he always provided time for the other side, without yelling over, as he does now. I think he had a little of the Tip O'Neill willingness to talk to Republicans.

He's clearly gone down hill since the "tingles" comment, as has his ratings.

Don't know but I have heard him talk about Sarah Palin recently. He is clearly obsessed with her. I suspect he believes she said the "see Russia from my house" comment. He mocks her intelligence which is funny considering his embarassment on Jeopardy.

Yeah, whenever something bad happens for the current admin I remember he would always divert with something about Bush. You could damn near time your watch to it. Anyway, was just curious as if that was still the case as I haven't watched his show in quite a while.

coming up next on the Megan Kelly FILE!!!!!!!! Demonic possessions in Gary Indiana.........................

Fox is a real news channel. MSNBC is nothing but a liberal joke.

Fox News is the highest rated cable news channel, it's not even close. Fox has more viewers than CNN and MSNBC combined.

So as much as people like to slam Fox (and some of those criticisms are totally valid), they're doing something right. As much as we decry the media, it's still a business with customers that have a choice.

What isn't fair about reporting on Christie?

It was the news of the day. The governor is going to go under investigation.

Not that I would know, but how much time has Tingles spent on the IRS scandal, Benghazi, Holder's wiretaps on reporters, etc? I'm not saying Christie is innocent or guilty, but the bridge thing, for the time being, is a local problem that after it ended everything was business as usual. Not so with Obama's scandals.

And isn't it funny how just a few months ago Obama went on TV to announce he wanted to start a war with Syria - Obama wanted to kill people! How did that fiasco just simply disappear in the media?

The Benghazi thing was in the news for months. It's pretty much over now.

The Christie thing however is still a developing story.

Really? It's over? So did the investigation show that Clinton really did answer the call at 3:00am when help was needed? Or why did Obama bail out and go campaigning? Why wasn't a rescue attempted? Who didn't provide additional security when it was asked for? Who got fired, demoted, or prosecuted? In the Christie thing, people were fired and will probably be prosecuted and no one was murdered in Fort Lee.

The only reason this is over is because the MSM dragged their feet until so much time had passed that people like you can say it's over.

Checked again tonight (Thursday ). Matthews led with 30 minutes on Christie and finished with his "opinion" piece about Christie.

God he is so pathetic.

You want Benghazi to be over? We haven't caught the people responsible for the attack yet have we? We still haven't found out why troops were not allowed to go in to rescue our people...

That's over?

I could be wrong, but if Obama makes Chris's leg tingle - Killary probably makes him wet himself. If Killary wins in 2016, we'll see Matthews doing Depends commercials.

Update, Monday February 17. Yep, Chrissie is still leading with the Christie story. I think he just surpassed his coverage of the OJ trial.
