It's really sad that he didnt even get the recognition becuase he was overshadowed by I. Hamilton.

That is what happens when you trust the star ranking system as the last authority. I stated last summer on the Den that I felt Hunter would make a bigger impact then Hamilton would. Sadly Hamilton never made it to campus to prove my theory right. Recruiting websites are a business, and they are trying to get a piece of the dirty and shady pie which is what college recruiting really is. I trust a coach like Floyd has the experience to spot raw talent and not depend on how many stars were given based on a youtube clip or a bloggers instincts. I actually wonder who runs these so called recruiting expert websites. I think of what a bust Kentucky was last year with all their five star hot shots.

I know that the Hamilton brothers were exposed to youtube fame early and that they played on a more recognized AAU team so that helped them boost their rating up. Hunter was in contention for Mr Michigan Basketball last year so he was not really under the radar either.

I do like that these ratings gives us posters the opportunity to puff our chests out and brag about what an awesome recruiting class we have next year, then we fail to make the NIT. Its just another way to make a buck, I rather trust my coach and his assistant coaches to do their job. I thought Ben Howland (UCLA interm) was also part of our coaching team, guess he was just hanging out at UTEP this past fall. I do know we have a team of assistants that most were all once D1 head coaches, so keeping them should be a priority to our fan base instead of wondering what youtube allstar is allegedly showing up next year. 04-cheers

They better have different refs, but giving only one team a chance to have fans there is garbage. Especially when it's in the conference outliers city. It would be like the WAC tourney being in Ruston.

Louisiana Tech has every right to submit a bid.03-weeping

Can't submit a bid until we interview all the different CUSA crews 02-13-banana

Too many fouls called in this game but on the road you are usually going to have a few more called on you than at home. Happens that way most of the time. 30 fouls against LT and 24 against UTEP. Not that much difference. The real, glaring difference in this game is your shot selection. When you jack up 3's all night, you better hit more than 24%. Some good defense by UTEP may not have helped you a lot either.

I totally agree and have said all long that when we shoot 30% from 3 and 70% for the FT line we are very tough to beat. With a small guard driven club we have to be able to hit more than 24% when most of them were wide open looks.

Utep played well and looks like they will only get better. Floyd is a good coach. FYI - I was born in El Paso and my Dad got his masters from Utep in the early 70's. 04-cheers
