I was taking a second look at linebacker commit A. J. O'Neal, and came away wondering how in the world this guy is only rated with only two stars. I think we are going to enjoy watching him on defense for a number of years.

This year's Super Bowl, neither team boast a former 5* recruit on their two-deep and both teams only have four 4*s. The avg star ratings of the NE Patriots player coming out of HS was 2.3 stars. Seattle avg is 2.4 stars. Two ain't bad it's how you keep working and develop.

Good point, those to HC have near full autonomy at the draft which is rare and are among the best at finding the freak athlete and developing them into their system. I don't understand why more NFL teams don't subscribe to this formula.

Great size for OLB at 6'3". Looks like a very good edge rusher, which is something ODU's defense has never had. He could earn some PT as a true freshman.

I was going to post the same thing. Hayes looks like a very solid WR, though yet unrated he has offers from App. St., ECU, and GSU.

I guess Hayes was able to clear the academic hurdle that was mentioned previously. He'd make for a nice last minute addition to the signing class.

This is kind of expected and old news but Blake La'Russa out of Bishop Sullivan enrolled as walk on. Only time will tell which of these 4 QB's have what it takes to fill in for Heinicke.

Looks like he (Hayes) would be a good last minute addition to this year's class.

App is full so that offer is likely off the table.

Just wondering since La'Russa is local kid did anybody watch him in person when he played? Do you think he can compete with Bentley, Caleb and Verhaegh and be in the conversation like Fulgham?

I slowed down the ESPN signing day commercial with all the hats. The Monarchs are in there with the rest of all the FBS teams...

This is the view from the hotel for the recruits visiting this weekend:

I like our chances of closing anyone we get to visit.

I always liked the baseball logo featured here. They should make that part of the official athletic logos. It's much better than the puffy hampton colesium. Very classy and classic. I Do like the lion w paw and the shield too.

The OD interlock is way too generic. And it's basically the OU logo just blue and the U has a line on top. The shield logo is perfect for hats.

agree. indistinguishable from lots of others. In fact, I would have a hard time knowing what school it represents without already knowing. Who the .... makes these decisions??
