You know you are quite a fool. You act as if Tulane "IS" the greatest university on the planet. The misinformation you spread on all of these forums sure make you and your beloved Tulane look like crap.

You sir are the bottom of the barrel.

Put up or shut up Cajun. Don't just call names. Show us numbers why he is giving us "misinformation." Here's your opportunity to make a case. Personally I think he's right about ULM. From everything I've heard, they rank with Idaho and Eastern Michigan at the bottom of FBS. Of course, I also can't see Liberty being a good addition either (although for different reasons than Tom).

The Tulane program has a bigger budget, it's in a bigger city, and it has more highly ranked academic programs.

The thing is, UL's budget is growing by leaps and bounds now that we have decent management and are winning, Lafayette is now the fastest growing and wealthiest city in Louisiana and that isn't slowing down, and as for school rankings neither school is Harvard.

Tulane is a lot like my alma mater (George Washington). Hideously expensive, largely a second choice for those attending, and a low support level in its home city. Both schools are very wealthy. Both are good schools that produce good alumni.

Comparing Tulane to ULL isn't really valid. They do different things. Tulane (like GW) is a finishing school for the children of rich parents. ULL provides a broad educational base to an entire region of Louisiana. ULL matters to the entire population of South Lousiana. Tulane matters as a second choice for the kids of parents on Long Island or in New Jersey.

And that's the reason why Tulane to the AAC was a real head scratcher. A bad football program. A bad basketball program. Little to no support in their home city. Abysmal attendance.

And before the Tulane folks flame out on me, please note that I said many of the same things about a school I graduated from and still support the athletic department of. Tulane is a peer of GW, Rice, Tufts, Case Western Reserve, and Emory. These are good schools. Tulane is not a peer of Duke or Georgetown or Vanderbilt. The might have a program or two that is in that league, but on the average, no.

#Liberty has improved it's position with current #SunBelt members. A long shot during last summer is more of 50/50 at the moment.

But I thought there was no chance? Is 50/50 better than no chance? My worthless Liberty degree didn't teach me...
