Conference RPI as of 1-29-14
As I posted in another thread, CUSA has seen it's RPI go from 18 or 19 the week CUSA play started to now 14th. With many conferences playing games on Wednesday through Saturday, C-USA has a chance to possibly move up a few percentage points this week and a spot or 3 by the end of the regular season:

10 MWC .5345
11 MVC .5164
12 MAC .5100
13 Horizon .4985
14 CUSA .4946
15 Colonial .4903

There's no chance we crack top 10 but the #12 spot is reachable and with some help 11 isn't impossible. Once again, considering when we started CUSA play 3-4 weeks ago we were either 18 or 19 its not too shabby.

What is helping us right now is that Utep played Kansas, and some others have played teams that also played Kansas. Kansas is number one in SOS, and that gap between them and number two Alabama is roughly the same as it is between Alabama and SOS number 79. That is a lot of wins.

The Horizon League's bottom three have performed better than expected, but I think we can pass them despite that particular anchor not being as heavy. Their top team, Green Bay, has three NAIA/DII wins and they're coming off of a loss to Valpo. I think it'll be a bit more of a fight in Horizon League conference play from now on, and we'll ride that wave past them.

RE: Conference RPI as of 1-29-14..updated for 1-30
CUSA didn't play last night but still gained minimal percentage points. With games tonight it will jump a little more and hopefully in the right direction:

10 MWC .5345 fell to .5334
11 MVC .5164 fell to .5161
12 MAC .5100 fell to .5097
13 Horizon .4985 fell to .4975
14 CUSA .4946 fell to .4941
15 Colonial .4903 fell to .4888

tonight's CUSA action:

FIU (206) at Marshall (287)
FAU (249) at Charlotte (122)
ECU (223) at Middle Tennessee (109)
ODU (172) at UAB (131)
Rice (286) at UTSA (301)
La Tech (73) at UTEP (113)
USM (35), Tulsa (136), UNT (176), and Tulane (230) don't play tonight

RE: Conference RPI as of 1-29-14
At the end of the season conference RPI rankings will closely reflect the conference's non-conference winning %. We're ranked 13th in OOC winning % so we'll likely be 13th in the final conference RPI ranking.
