To be fair, it was improperly compensating football players last time...

They probably never stopped in the first place even after being given the death penalty. It just went more underground like they do in the $EC.

Sounds more like an overzealous reporter trying to push a story that's not really there because who it involves (SMU, Larry Brown). It appears the grades were changed just like they were done by the same high school on other recruits going to other schools. I don't see the connection to the SMU coaching staff though. Even the article posted said Brown seemed completely clueless and I read Fraizer went to summer school after and was cleared by the NCAA. It's not like SMU was changing the guys grades or that there is any evidence that they got these high schools to change their grades.

Listening to some DFW radio station (WBAP) this AM they made it sound like it was the kid's HS who did the grade altering and that SMU was not involved with that.

more like north Texas state fans at it again obsessing over SMU while failing to realize that no matter how good or bad SMU is that makes no difference in how bad north Texas state is overall in their history

Oh yeah, we're so jealous of SMU's history of cheating and the death penalty.

There is more to that school than just the death penalty. Plus, every SWC team was doing it at the time. They were just more arrogant about it.

SMU received falsified grades and contacted the school to report the impropriety. The grade was changed back and KF was required to take summer school to meet NCAA requirements. KF did so and was cleared by the NCAA and an SMU faculty review committee before enrolling at SMU.

WFAA used SMU for a ratings grab.

Read the actual report for yourself as I have, or if you don't want to read 47 pages, just take my word for it. Or SJ's word. He got it right.

Here's the actual report. Read it for yourself, or take my word for it since I've already read it. But for those who hate SMU, you'll get a kick out of how Kimball coach Royce Johnson publicly says that he has no use for SMU

In El Paso, we have a local sports reporter who has been trying to bash UTEP and El Paso. It's amazing how these reporters get away with some of their stories

Why do these people get jobs? Reporters should tell the whole truth or get fired and have to find a new career. Anything else is irresponsible.

TodgeRodge, who is obsessessing over who on this board? Face it, your one sick phuck who has needed a shrink for way too long with the way you carry on about a school who must have told you to kiss-off and maybe for you to try to get into the woman's college across town from UNT.

Speaking of Texas Women's U.......grow yourself a dick and find yourself a woman (or if you go the other way) to spend your time while getting the hell off this board and off the subject of your obsession.....the University of North Texas. (Man, doesn't that name have a nice ring to it)? 05-nono

Rule #1... never quote a blog as the basis for your argument, they usually lack any facts... they need not be responsible for their content - the reason writers of legitimate media post blogs is to stir the pot and try to find an actual story.

Rule #2... if you're reading a blog about a scandal and by the end of the post the writer is saying the one who raised the questions or created the scandal reveals he/she has no proof... it was a pointless blog and you just lost that reading time - moments off your life and you'll never get them back!
