You also have to take into account that most AP writers probably haven't watched a Southern Miss game this season, outside of the couple of dunks that have made it to ESPN. And USM doesn't have a "star" player that truly sticks out when you look at the stat sheet. I think that's why there's the big disparity from the Coaches poll to the AP poll. Coaches have watched film/tape on USM, a lot have at least, and I think that's why we're getting more votes in that poll.

When I was in school they brought in Better than Ezra and Train... Didn't even fill up a quarter of RG.. But it was fun except for the guy at the beginning be bopping into a microphone.

There is a reason why we are struggling to get quality ooc opponents, and that is pretty much reflected in those polls.

I remember having Sawyer Brown and Cowboy Mouth. Sawyer Brown was a pretty good choice. Cowboy Mouth was just easy to get. That dude's a world class spotlight-hog.

Anyway... I've never seen the musical act outdraw the game.
