Love and Honor wrote:I definitely didn't think we'd be in the upper half of the MAC after eight games, especially after the embarrassing Wilmington loss. The biggest factor was getting Willie Moore back from suspension and Bill Edwards from injury, plus Reggie Johnson transferred away during the winter (wasn't playing well, might've been a bad locker room influence). Should be a great game in Athens next week, I'm looking forward to hosting OU the last game of the regular season in March.

It looks like brighter days are ahead for Miami basketball, which couldn't have come at a better time. Football was awful and hockey has underachieved, hopefully fans migrate back to Millett once they realize we have the first decent team in recent memory.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
eCK: Having Edward and Moore playing is one big part of the diffference, although both are mostly coming off the bench still but giving the team quality minutes. Moore is a good ball handler, but is having real problems with his shooting.

I'm also encouraged by the recent commits that Coach Cooper has been getting in terms of new HS recruits...I do think he's going to bring us back to being a contender in the MAC very quickly.

For those who want to see the end of the KSU-Akron game yesterday. zThe whole last minute was widely improbable, capped off by this shot.

these BG announcers are straight up homers. Do they always complain about every call?

You want homers? Try Balls States crew, they called an NIU player a thug because he wrestled for a loose ball. Also, they called the game over and out of reach with like 10 mins left in the first half.

Late technical on Hurley gives Bowling Green the lead. Hurley has been a whiner all year but it hasn't cost us a game...yet.

He had a good reason to complain. Those refs allowed Bowling Green to get away with really hard bumps late in the game but then they go and call UB for bumps. He should control himself though because that technical was costly but the officiating was a joke in the last five minutes. Every call went BGSU's way.

I'm really getting tired of UB getting the short end of the stick with MAC officiating.

yeah it's bad for you, I'm sure. oh, by the way, let me know the next time UB gets called for giving up a safety when they are sacked on the four-yard line.

Just be thankful the refs called a BS late hit out of bounds on UB or Ohio would've been shut out in that game.

Anyways fouls per game ranking for Buffalo:

2013-14: 219th
2012-13: 260th
2011-12: 149th
2010-11: 200th
2009-10: 195th
2008-9: 167th
2007-8: 334th
2006-7: 309th
2005-6: 245th
2004-5: 312th
2003-4: 304th
2002-3: 321st
2001-2: 284th

It's clear the refs have it out for them.

you think wayyyy too highly of the Bulls to think there is a global conspiracy against a middling MAC team. The zebras don't give a rip about UB.

Want less fouls? try sliding your feet instead of slapping with your hands on defense.

I edited it to add even more years.

When a team is near the bottom of the nation in fouls per game every single year for 10+ years it's a telling stat. Refs have their favorites and UB is not liked by MAC refs. We're an upstate NY team in a Midwestern based conference and this is what we get for it.

And how are you going to call someone out for complaining about the refs? I haven't found one MAC fanbase who doesn't (including you and your fellow OU fans). And I can assure you they don't get screwed anywhere near as much as UB does.

there's complaining about refs... then there's your decade long global conspiracy. Let me say it again in hopes that it sinks in- NOBODY CARES ABOUT BUFFALO.

why on earth would a bunch of grown men conspire against an avg. non descript, bball progam? IT MAKES NO SENSE.

Yeah conspiracy theories obviously only work for people not from the East when they cry "East Coast bias" for everything right? I think I've heard that phrase over a million times.

It's clear that UB plays a very physical game and fouls a lot.
Why would their be a national conspiracy to call fouls on UB, of all teams?

It always cracks me up when fans complain about announcers being homers. Well, duh.

Whether there is a conspiracy against Buffalo or not, Hurley's antics aren't making any friends in the MAC.

I imagine he's not making too many friends in Buffalo after that rookie mistake today that might have been the moment that decided the game.
