Cullop's Moment
Coach Cullop did something in about a 15 minute span that other coaches spend a career preaching. NEVER GIVE UP!

Down by 21 pts. in the second half of a road game she had a decision to make. Should she accept that the game was lost and build for the future by giving game experience to the freshmen or play her most experienced players, going for a win that most of us thought was out of reach. I think most coaches would have had selected the first choice because the second was the most risky.

By making her decision to play the most experienced players she sent a loud message to her players. She doesn't just talk the talk, she walks the walk. Proving with her actions, that she truly believes in them and together there is nothing they can't over come. Believe in yourself because I believe in you.

What a teaching moment! Not done with words but with action. Every player on that team will forever believe that nothing is impossible. Play hard, believe in yourself and your team mates, good things will happen.

Every player now knows that they have a coach who believes in them. In return they will believe in their coach.

Go Blue!!!

RE: Cullop's Moment
This year could quite possibly be coach Cullop's best coaching effort to date. Not the best record wise, but she's getting more from this team than other coaches could.

Definitely though I suppose it's worth wondering whether or not you risk playing the younger players when you are falling behind by that much? I can't remember, were there foul issues?

Either way, Coach really shows why she's the one a high school player would want to learn from. I bet Cullop is going to have a great legacy of former players becoming great coaches.

If I had to chose between winning now or winning tomorrow, I'd pick now. Next season is next season. Those underperforming underclassmen will have to grow up sometime.

You know these are some intriguing comments. I would have played the frosh and worked for the future. Now I'm thinking you all may be right. Great comments that are making me think.

I completely agree. Our players are ALWAYS hustling and playing their best.

Thank God for Coach Cullop! I pray she's here to stay.

Next year when we're playing different players, I'll still want to win now. It's not a charity club. You get playing time based on performance and production. If the Freshmen aren't stepping up, so be it, they'll watch how it's done from the bench and take notes. They had all pre-conf. to play, these games really count.

Winning MACC >> winning in season for any MAC team that wants to sniff the NCAAs. I can see the difficulty of balancing wins versus developing players.

I don't go to many games to watch a coach "coach," but I do with coach Cullop. I love how she doesn't stop coaching as players come on and off the floor. Never saw Stan do this, Of course Cross had to look up how to spell "coaching" in a dictionary. Coach K is a master of preparation and I love how in interviews the players say "we practice that situation all the time in practice."

Hats off to Coach Cullop. Also kudos to Dola and Inma playing all 40 minutes. Dola looked like she injured her leg during the course of the game and took some huge hits and spills. She really gutted it out to help stem the tide and turn the game around. Most grit demonstrated by any Rocket player in memory!
