That's typically because we've walked into an empty arena to play a bad basketball team, and therefore not really emotionally ready to play. I don't think that will be an issue this year.

I like the logic. I hope you're right. Seems strange we should have to lace em up tight to beat ANY SMU team, at least in basketball.

SMU also plays the type of basketball which gives us problems. Slow it down, defend well, rebound well, take the air out of the ball.

Not always. We have lost 2 of our last 3 there though. Prior to that SMU had only beaten us once.

Really, except for 07-08 and 08-09 even when we've won, we've struggled way more than we should have with them in Dallas.

Larry Brown is turning things around in Dallas.

I hope we have a good turnout. Last year on a weekday night there were 200-300 Tiger fans on hand and we made a lot of noise. Being a Saturday, hoping for a big and loud turnout.

I bet 300 plus Memphis fans.

SMU has always given us trouble because they would have zero fans there, play a slow, grind it out style, and just suck all the energy out of the building. This year I believe they have already sold out our game, so should be more lively at least. I would much rather play in a gym packed with opposing fans, than a gym filled with nothing but crickets. Larry Brown does have that program headed in the right direction, and they are currently ranked 24th in kenpom, with a defensive efficiency of 13th. Will be a tough one on the road, come out of there with a W and our guys will be oozing confidence going into the Gonzaga game.

They have those 2 wins- but really have not been as much trouble as people remember. Let alone that their two wins were against an NIT level Memphis team and the "freshmen"
team in 2010-2011 season- a team that lost several road games.

None of which matter for THIS year's games, where they have a really good team.
