The AAC food tour....
Just watched a Travel Channel show about BBQ. I got to thinking about our conference and places to eat. From that standpoint, we DESTROY all other conferences..

Memphis, NC, Texas, -BBQ
Memphis- Two of the well known fried chicken places in the country in Gus's and Uncle Lou's
Philly- Ummmm, the sammiches, nuff said
Cincy- Cincinnati chili plus a wide range of great German food!
Texas- texmex!
Tulsa- STEAK!
New Orleans- nuff said
Orlando/Tampa- Gulf Seafood.

Man a munchie tour of this conference would be fun!

New Haven, CT is considered the birthplace of the hamburger. New England also has the best lobster. 04-rock

Philly is one of the best restaurant cities in the country. If you come here and eat nothing but cheesesteaks, you didn't do a good job planning.

Yeah, just generalization.......Memphians don't just eat BBQ. Philly is considered one of the top food cities in the US.

I love heading down to New Orleans. I go to a different restaurant every time, and I'm yet to have a bad meal down there.

In college my diet was BBQ and beer, basically everyday. I put on the freshman 50.

It sure does. The availability of seafood in Batimore and how it forms part of that city's culture reminds me of New Orleans.

Sadly some of Cincinnati's German restaurants have closed.
My favorite german side dish, Hot Slaw, is surprisingly available at a Cajun
restaurant which has been open since 1984. Nice place

Agreed 04-cheers Definitely some great restaurants in Philly and I am not a huge cheesesteak guy. That is a cool tourist thing to do but the city has a lot to offer. I remember making the trek to Philadelphia back in the day when Le Bec Fin was the #1 ranked restaurant in America. That was a nice dining experience and I am glad I had the chancer to eat there near its peak before it changed the menu and dining room around.

What JHG said is true and Philly's restaurant scene continues to evolve and expand. I still need to get to Zahav which has gotten a lot of attention and praise in the city lately, I get distracted by all the dining options around me in South Philly though 03-cloud9

I was down in Annapolis a few weeks ago, got some of the best seafood I've had down there. Love the side of Old Bay and side of vinegar they give you to dip the crabmeat in which I'm told is a Maryland thing.

Haven't been to Cincy, but I occasionally buy Skyline chili from Wegman's (only place in PA you can get it to my knowledge) and make it at home four-way. Pretty damn good and quick to make.

I do the same thing. Rarely eat at Chili parlors but I make it home often.
Besides cheddar, I mix in blue cheese, lots of hot sauce and the oyster crackers are a must.

You can't leave Tampa without having a real cuban sandwich or grouper sandwich.

For beer lovers, you also have to make sure you try any Cigar City Brewing Company beers. CCB is regularly rated as among the best craft breweries in the world.

Or Bern's

Bern's is a Tampa institution, and their steaks, wine selection and desert room are just amazing and world class but I was thinking more of regional foods that helps define the area.
