Does Anyone Know What Level of TV Coverage AAC Baseball Will Have?
Just curious if anyone has any idea what level of coverage AAC baseball will enjoy. CUSA baseball coverage was relatively sparse--maybe 10-20 games at most. Just wondering if it will be any better here. Even a large number of ESPN-3 appearances would be better than what we had in CUSA.

I would say in Cincinnati, it will be at the same levels as last year.....None. I do not remember ever seeing a Bearcats game on TV. When you live in a pro baseball town, it is all Reds. Didn't Houston used to have a Pro Baseball team? Just busting your b>>>s

I've been curious about this as well. I'm also curious what the online options will be. TV in CUSA was terrible, but at least every conference game your team played was available on All-Access, home or away. I hate All-Access, but at least it was an option to watch the game, even if it WAS a crappy option. But since we haven't heard anything about baseball coverage, and the season is only 3 weeks away, I have a feeling each school will be left to it's own devices for online coverage. Correct me if I'm wrong, I think that was the case in the Big East.

lol. Yes, we used to have a MLB team. I think our entire 2013 payroll was around 25 million---not really up to MLB standards. The games were unavailable to about 60% of Houston due to CSN carriage issues---so most folks didn't see just how bad they were.
Im sure some AAC games will be on TV. Even CUSA had some coverage. Im pretty sure I remember that the entire tournament will be televised. Not sure about anything else. I know there will be some coverage available on the AAC digital network. Im also hoping for 10-20 games on the ESPN networks (similar to CUSA) with another 20 or so on ESPN-3. I think we will have 9 schools that play this year. I know SMU and Tulsa, don't play--- and Temple is dropping the sport. So, I think we will have 8 playing over the long haul. Even with just 8 teams, if 20 were on the digital network, 20 on ESPN, and 20 on ESPN-3---that's not much considering each team probably plays 50 games each.

Temple is dropping baseball??? Damn, that sucks. With only 7 opponents to play, I wonder if the AAC would consider playing 4-game series. Twenty-one conference games is very low and it makes scheduling harder. In CUSA, I always thought the league should have brought in Dallas Baptist as a baseball member so everyone could have 27 league games. Heck, if CUSA won't, then the AAC should just so we can have 24. Of course, playing 4-game series bring it's own set of problems, too, with pitching depth and such. I'm sure it wouldn't be favored by the coaches. It'll be interesting to see what the league does, if it does anything.

Actually I've seen a few UC baseball games on ESPN networks the last few years - I think usually ESPNU or ESPN2. Last season all 3 games at St. John's were on an ESPN station. The year before that the game at Ohio State was shown. And I remember seeing UofL at UC.
They have shown some games at UC's home stadium.

It is my understanding the Tulane/WSU series will be on TV.
It will probably be Cox 22 in Wichita, which Cox 4 in Louisiana would probably broadcast also.

Tulane was at one time ranked Number 1 for the year by Baseball America in the nation and went to Omaha twice. Since 2008 our head coach Rick Jones has become lazy drawing his half million dollar a year salary as recruiting etc has gone downhill fast. No NCAA appearances since 2008. We basically need to kick Rick upstairs and do a nationwide search for a young aggressive recruiting coach that can prosper at a leading nationwide academic university such as Tulane.

FWIW---The CUSA Spring television schedule was announced today. It includes just 4 televised regular season baseball games plus the championship game. Same for womens softball. That's far less coverage than I thought CUSA baseball would get. I guess we will see if AAC baseball fares any better.

Other than the Hockey strike, I don't remember ESPN ever covering much of regular season College Baseball. Heck they used to barely cover Super Regionals and wait until Omaha. Their coverage has gotten better but the good news is I can watch basically every ECU home baseball game on line with streaming and a lot of the away games.
