Louisville yes. But West Virginia? Have we ever played West Virginia?

Many of our Alabama recruits came to USM for the opportunities to play against Alabama. Getting into an Alabama game as an opponent is better than not playing in it at all.

had nothing to with playing West Virginia, but them recruiting and getting players we used to get from Alabama along with Louisville and others. They saw what Bower was doing there and copied it. Had absolutely nothing to do with playing Alabama....

Says the almighty Oracle.

I think I'm going to tone down the din in here with a certain link from a certain profile page. You've entered AndreWhere territory.

For the record it was Bower who wanted the bama series ended.

You sure? I thought it was RG who wanted the series ended? I thought Bower wanted the series to continue, but wanted a few more games in Hattiesburg?

Why do we turn these threads into a pissing match and bring up Bower? The man is retired and enjoying the good life.

RE: USM at Alabama 2014
The only pissing I see here is "Fans" trashing tbe man who put Southern miss in the map in football. No one here is trying to hire Bower back, just give credit where credit is due. Give Monken some time, it will take several years to get over Fedora's and Johnson's last two years of recruiting. Probably the worst two years in college football history.
