Tigers RPI related question
I was looking at the ESPN website at the RPI section for today and this is what it shows:

RK TEAM RPI D1 W-L SOS 1-25 26-50 51-100
37 Memphis .6078 12-4 32 1-3 1-1 1-0

I don't understand why we are listed as 1-3 against the top 25. When we beat Ok State they were in the top 25, and when we beat Louisville they were in the top 25. They were then and they are now. We lost against Ok. State, Florida, UConn and Cincy, and either UConn or Cincy wasn't ranked when they beat us, so I understand the three top 25 losses, but why don't we have credit for two top 25 wins? Is the ESPN site just wrong, or am I missing something?

Louisville is not in the top 25 of the RPI. Last I saw they were #32. RPI and the AP are two completely different rankings

I took it off the ESPN site just a few minutes ago. I thought they updated it every day.

Ok, so Louisville wasn't in the top 25 RPI when we beat them, or does this update and change. In other words, if they move to the top 25 RPI in the future, would this show as a top 25 win?

It's based on end of the season rpi. Losing at home is a rpi killer particularly if they are a bad team. The reverse, winning on the road against a good team is rpi booster.

RE: Tigers RPI related question
Yes, Louisville has a decent shot at finishing with a top 25 RPI, as do we, UConn, and Cincy.
The records for RPI purposes do not reflect an AT THE TIME rating, but the current rating of each team played.

This is why when we were in CUSA, we were always a little on edge when Southern Miss would be at RPI 47 near the end of the season. We were potentially looking at 3 additional top 50 RPI wins for our seeding, or if they dipped below the 50, it would effect our seeding adversely
