The last time my father visited parts of Russia (15 years ago), and he walked into the bathroom at a power plant, it was just holes in the floor, no toilet, no tp. This is a major step up for them.

My wife's daughter went to Thailand for a mission trip and said they had what they called "squattie potties" rather than what she was used to back home.

I will say the ones in Saudi Arabia were a little culture shock.

One of the most prevalent complaints when Americans move to other countries as seen on "House Hunters-International" on HGTV channel - That and the less "modern" kitchens.

No, people in Japan/South Korea are spoiled with their heated, music-playing, self-cleaning toilets. 03-lol

This is the venue for the new Olympic event, "Super Stench". Measurement is by extremely sensitive olfactory sensors and results are given in airborne parts per million.

The competition is fierce. The favorites are the Indians with their curry spices and the Russians with their boiled cabbage and onions.

And those are 100% staged - not even people looking to buy a house. Don't ask how I know this :)

The only problems I had in Moldova were the lousy beds and the lack of shower curtains. I had to mop the damn bathroom after every shower.

Yup. I still have no idea how Germany keeps water out of hotel bathroom floors.
