Super Bowl is set
It's Richard Sherman vs the Denver Broncos.
Questions that need to be asked of Sherman on media day:
1. Do you know any of your teammates' names?
2. Are any of them necessary?

RE: Super Bowl is set
He's a shittalker. Always has been. Always will. But he's damn good at football and is without a doubt the best CB in the game. Crabtree deserved every second of that rant.
Media always wants non-candid answers. Then Richard Sherman delivers the most animated postgame interview of all time and now most media members are offended. LOL

Yeah let's see...100 decibels loud, just made the biggest play of the game to secure your team's Super Bowl berth, and has a history with Crabtree. People are incredibly stupid. His reaction was pure excitement and honest as hell. Now people want to act offended or pretend football players don't talk **** on every single play of the game.

RE: Super Bowl is set
I have no issue with excitement, that is certainly warranted. My issue with him is his arrogance all the time. He is a top corner in the league, I don't think the top one, but he's certainly top 5.
From what I've gained he was upset because Crabtree said he didn't know who the top corner was. That could be true, he hasn't played every corner in the league. IDK how Sherman finds that as a slight.
Even if Crabtree said something, Sherman should be able to take it. If you talk more trash than anyone, you better be able to take some trash. Blatant hypocrisy.
Also, Crabtree isn't a sorry receiver. That's just spewing words that aren't true. I didn't watch the whole game, so I don't know if they threw at Sherman much, but his stat line wasn't eye popping.

RE: Super Bowl is set
Rumor is that Crabtree tried starting a fight with Sherman at a charity function last summer. And I'm sure Crabtree was talking **** throughout the game himself...he's far from humble. He probably shouldn't have tried to say good game to Crabtree after the play. I don't know what people expected Sherman to say 30 seconds after he made the the biggest play of his career against the number one receiver in the biggest rivalry in the NFL right now.
Most great corners don't have huge stat lines because no one throws at them. That's what happened yesterday. Sherman's name was hardly mentioned until that play.

I'm neither an admirer nor hater of one team more than the other.....not crazy about Elway nor of "Whats Your deal" Carrol either.....
Read somewhere there is not much difference between what is commonplace attire of fans in Seattle on gameday and what's worn worn everyday on streets on SanFran along the Embarcadero...
Cannot forget how I marveled at what rent a QB Wilson did single handedly for Badgers in SF to beat NIU....
Playing outdoors in February should make for a unique Super Bowl if little else and also for the halftime performers as well....JUST SAYIN - would game ever be postponed if blizzard conditions and white outs existed?
Which of the two weather forecasts holds true may have almost as many wagers as the game itself: Farmers Almanac vrs US Weather Bureau two weeks out.

Again, as I stated I didn't watch the game so I didn't know if they threw his way. Which I doubted because he was good.
I didn't know the fight thing until your mention of it. That could play a huge role in how I now view it.
My main point was even if Crabtree talked trash (highly likely), Sherman being a trash talking expert should brush it off. If you give it, you better take it.

I doubt it. Liquored-up football fans love the worst possible conditions. I think the only thing that would stop the game would be a hurricane or tornado.
No way would I pay thousands of dollars to see a game outdoors in February in NY/NJ. To each his own.

Weather conditions aside - NJ alone is a reason not to attend....and that's even before the Blogo effect nor the NJ Shores TV show came to light of day.

RE: Super Bowl is set
The NFL did say they have the ability to move the game up to Saturday or postpone to Monday & Tuesday if there are bad weather conditions, but the only thing that would stop them would probably be the blizzard of the century.
As for Richard Sherman stats, he was only thrown at twice yesterday. Yes, he's really good. This is a good read from Deadspin.
Quote:To start, let's go to our favorite individual metric for coverage, Pro Football Focus's yards per snap in coverage. This stat measures how many yards a defensive back's assigned man gets for every snap he's in coverage. So if a cornerback drops into coverage 50 times in a game and gives up 100 total yards, the number will be 2; if he drops back those same 50 times and gives up 25 yards, it's 0.5. Sherman's number is 0.77 yards per coverage snap—second in the league behind Darrelle Revis's 0.72. This is a preposterous number on its own, but Sherman's targets per snap in coverage—the Deion metric, basically—is 9.5, the best figure in the last two years. There's a huge drop down to Revis at 8.8, and another huge drop to 7.7 for third place Patrick Peterson and Keenen Lewis.
Sherman also leads the league in interceptions, QB Rating against, and coverage snaps per reception, and has one of the lowest ratios of YAC to total yards allowed of all cornerbacks....

I look forward to a good snow game.....Manning engineers a game winning drive "plowing thru" the Seahawks D, Sherman on the sideline for the final 2 minutes due to frostbite

I'm not big on rants but I'd rather find out what a player thinks than all the trite phrases and coachspeak and PC stuff that we always get - that's a complete waste of everyone's time IMO.
